How much does size matter

I'm looking at an early 70's Paramount. I may keep it or sell it, but with a 25 1/2 " frame it is way too big for me. Does an abnormally large or small frame affect the price and how much?

I don't see any use for keeping a bike that I can't ride...64-65cm isn't too huge and there are tall folk who pine for a Paramount in their size. I don't think it will affect the price all that much. (If it does, it might be a plus. There was an exceptionally nice 26" 1976 Paramount that recently sold on eBay for a little over $1700.)

What you say is true. But on behalf of the freakishly tall... I can tell you that the product is rare, and consequently, the market, while small, is more desperate.

Well, I went ahead and bought it today. It is a 1972 touring model.Burnt orange color. Campy drivetrain with suntour barend shifters. It is in really nice condition. I'll get it apart , cleaned and lubed this week.

Excellent. Perhaps you would consider a trade with me for a CHROME 1980 Schwinn Voyageur, all original with new Panaracer Pasela tires and total stem to stern tune-up? PM me...

Back in my sales days the bikes we always had left over were either the small ones or the big ones.
Bikes like an large, older Paramount fall into a double niche market. The first is obviously the high end vintage market and the second is for a large frame.

I dont think anyone would argue that an entry to mid level vintage is no problem to sell and that a 21" or 23" is no problem to sell.

For a 30 years old steel? I hope it belonged to Eddy Mercx or sumbody.

I don't really need another bike, but thanks for the offer. The Paramount is heading for Ebay this weekend.
