74 Raleigh Pro
I really like the ride of my Raleigh Sports 3 speed so I built this up with upright bars and wide Brooks saddle. The frame is a Raleigh Pro with an "A" serial number. I think this is a 1974. The chrome on the fork was terrible so I covered them with some vinyl sign strips. Found a Raleigh branded Suntour rear shifter but still looking for a front.
It rides great. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3103/...326ebd89_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3018/...116f427f_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3074/...a4373f4c_b.jpg |
How does it ride? I'd think the racing-style geometry of the Pro wouldn't work well with upright bars and thus less weight distributed toward the front, but who knows?
