Check out the new Bottechia

I've had it for a few weeks but I was waiting for my new bars to arrive. Well they did so here she is. The finish on this bike is a little dull...sort of a matte finish, the decals look original. Any info or comments welcome.

pretty dang sweet! I'd call it a "satin" finish, at least on the black paint; and that's a very interesting bit of detailing around the backside of the seatcluster!
I missed the lead-up to this: is it NOS or just new to you?

velomateo 06-25-08 05:32 PM

Just new to me. Only the rims were NOS. The white has the same finish as the black and "satin" is a better description. I dig the paint detail too.

The matte finish totally makes the bike. GORGEOUS!

Nice job on a gorgeous bike. The chrome stays are great and that alternating black and white color scheme is killer. The green accent suits it well.

beautiful!!

Beautiful bike. Yes, the black and white ones had a satin finish. The red and white ones are gloss and probably the most common. I've also seen blue/white and green/white in gloss but they seem to be a lot less common and maybe not available in the US? Not sure. I'd guess that's around an 84-86 based on the Super Record components, the cable guides on the top tube and the decal scheme. Originally it would have said 'BOTTECCHIA' in black letters on the seat tube between the championship decals as well. CycloMondo has those available on eBay. The green tape and tires are an interesting choice. I've never seen one done like that before.

Wow!! Awesome looking classic! Love the old downtube shifters. I have a set of NR shifters I can't get rid of! Just love the quality and attention to detail.

Good luck with it!

Very nice bicycle. Love the color scheme. How does it ride?

velomateo 06-25-08 10:35 PM

Thanks, it rides great. I don't think it has seen many miles.

I absolutely love the whole outfit but especially the greenwall tires. Sweet.
