Thanet Silverlight - A Rider?
 

I don't suppose many people here are unaware of the Thanet Silverlight for sale on ebay...

and I don't know if anyone can give me the advice I seek. However, I'm wondering if this is a bike that you can actually ride.

I'm very tempted to buy it but as beautiful it is, I'd only do so if I was going to ride it.

I've read all I can find on the marque and model and while people who've ridden one say it's light and responsive it also has something of a reputation for being fragile. I'm aware there were problems with the earlier machines and that lugs were added to the bb to address them but it seems there are still some questions. No one comes right out with their doubts but nonetheless...

What are your thoughts?

Geez :love:..........That's basically my dream bike. Damn near priceless in my eyes. If only it was smaller and I had some serious cash.
I would ride it. BUT I would be very conservative while riding it. Not that I wouldn't push it a bit but I'd do it in a very very safe place. Never in traffic. I have a nice paved river bank trail 2 blocks from the house and I'd pull it out for a spin on that trail every once in awhile.
