Help!!! Please ID
After a long foray of looking around the internet on information about bikes and becoming more knowledgeable since then I've decided on purchasing an old road bike from someone on a local classifieds ad. Upon asking for further information about the bike all I could discover was that this road bike was supposedly older, mounted 700c x 25 wheels, had japanese rims and was an 18-speeder. I was wondering if anyone on here could help identify the frame? A medium sized image is posted below and the original large blown up image is linked to my Flickr account.
Thanks so much and I hope someone can help me out, Mike http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3195/...95c4c7dc10.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3195/...37acb735_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3105/...fd6025b3c9.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3105/...822d0edb_o.jpg |
I can't name the brand but I can say that judging from the lugs, dropouts and components it looks pretty low end. Sorry. You might be able to make a serviceable single speed from it if you're inclined. Just keep your expectations within reason.

Man that thing looks rough. Though for 29 bucks I guess you wouldn't expect a lot. No idea what it is. Clean it, grease it, oil it, put air in the tires and mount that new saddle he talks about and you're riding. It'd be an ok commuter or general beater. I wouldn't put money into it.
