easy question: Installing rear derailleur (80s schwinn)

I have an early 80's schwinn World Sport (83 I think) with Shimano Tourney rear derailleur. I'm just trying to put the derailleur back on the bike and don't remember how it looked before I took it off.

If you have a similar style of derailleur/bike, any pics would help a lot.

I'll try to explain what I have going on even though a pic is really needed. The DR has a part that looks like it would be tightened onto the dropout via the normal axle nut. But it also has a little hole that could possibly line up with a hole on the rear dropout. The opposite side of the bike has the same hole on the dropout. I'm confused as to where the hole in the RD (and the associated bolt & nut) should be located.
If that makes sense to you, and you can answer, well that's awesome!

Thanks for any help. Sorry no pics :(

Does this Tourney RD have a "hanger claw" (see picture) or did you use an Allen wrench to unscrew the RD (from a threaded hole on the dropout)?
(actually it's NOT an easy question without pictures)

OH I see now. I guess it has an adapter claw or a hanger on the derailleur. I couldn't figure out that it slides into the dropout then tightens. It would have helped if I had stored the bolt on the hanger claw. duh. I hope I can find it.

Thanks a lot!

even if you lost it, the bolt is a standard metric bolt (maybe 5mm?) available at most big hardware or auto parts shops. And if you lost the D-shaped backer nut, that's available at your LBS (if you have a good kind of LBS with boxes full of odds and ends).
