Does Anyone know anything about Sun Tree??
Picked this up at the Salvation Army today. Complete except the rear brake below the chainstays. Does anyone know where I can get another one (other than e-bay)?
More over, I cannot find anything about it on the internet. It seems to be English. I am guessing the 1950's. It is a single speed, freewheel. Tires are 28x1-1/2. The valve stemps are something I have not encountered before, and moreover, I do not think I can get air in them. The paint is mostly OK. The chrome is not. There is one of those bike steering locks (no key). Anyone know how to get a key? Any help on the brakes, or info as to what this is and where it came from would be appriciated. The similarities in all respects (including decal placement and font) with Raleigh-produced DL-1's has me suspecting that this might have been produced from tooling sold by the Nottingham factory to the far eastern countries.
Looks like the front fork has bent forward a bit - needs a good cold-set back into place. -Kurt |
