cool but unknown headbadge

Does this ring any bells for anyone? Sorry about the shoddy picture, but it's coming to me third-hand: I had absolutely nothing to do with taking it. Me and my buddy found this in the attic of his house along with a pretty neat 80's monostay Albert Einsentrout road frame. We're trying to figure this one out, figured you fine folks could help out...

Its from a Sycip:

Quote from Bike Radar article:

Brothers Jay and Jeremy Sycip design, build and paint lugged, TIG and fillet-brazed steel bicycles in their Santa Rosa, California workshop. Artists by trade, they've been making handcrafted bicycles since 1992, and their once-eclectic integrated stem and bars, custom racks and fenders, and townie bikes set them apart years before the current handmade craze.

What on earth are a Sycip AND an Eisentraut doing in someone's attic?

If they are tiny bikes, could you just go ahead and send them both to me?

Thanks for the quick (and informative!) respone there, family_belly! For your question East Hill, I have no idea! His roomie just told us there were bike frames in the attic, and we were more than happy to investigate...

Both those bikes are high end, and custom made. What other treasures are hiding in that attic?

If you find Hoffa up there let us know. :)

Sadly, I think that is the end of the treasures up there, most of the other stuff seemed to consist of failed art projects, old clothes and other tchotchketype things. Pretty weird that both those frames were up there, both made by local builders. I don't remember how big they are, and I also don't remember the Sycip having those wild dropouts with the logo on them, maybe it's an older one?

If I recall the Road Bike Review article correctly, the dropouts are their new stainless steel dropouts. Your frame could be from the early '90s. I'd email the Sycip brothers and include a few good quality pics. I'll they'd be happy to ID one of their early frames. Interesting that the Sycip was found with an Einsentrout given that Jeremy Sycip apprenticed with Einsentrout.
