Help! I need a pair of Rigida Clincher Alloy 27 X 1 1/4" rims.

I am restoring my wifes Peugeot PH19. It came with a set of mismatched hubs and rims. I have managed to put together a set of Maillard Low Flange hubs, now all I need are the rims.

Did I taunt you with some of these the other day ?

If I come across any more I will let you know.

I just built up some Sun rims into wheels; not really vintage but built up well. Nashbar has some 27 rims for cheap, look similar. Hard to find old rims these days...

Are these what you are looking for ?

They came off an 80's Peugeot...

There'a a shop selling some new old-stock rims on eBay. Check it out.

I have one identical to the example in Sixty Fiver's photo (the other of the pair has a bad flat spot). Poor cosmetics, but all there. Would trade for a hooked-bead Weinmann 27" rim, for the Rigida is presently laced up to the front hub of my Trek 610.

I got mine as a pair and the rear was ruined... I happened to have a matching hoop at the shop so laced that up to the Maillard hub.

They are nice rims (strong and medium weight) and I have some Avocet 7/8 tyres mounted up on them.

Sir,

I put the request on C&V because these would be the people who would have 20 year old rims hanging from the rafters.

Sixty Fiver, YUP! Those be the ones. I just found a new 27X1 clincher to complete my set for my new Peugeot PX10E. And I have several Blue Lable 27 X 1 1/4" non clincher rims, but I really want a set of clinchers for my wifes PH19 Mixte.

You could try looking for mid 70's Motobecanes. Mine had Rigida rims. I bought the whole bike for $35.

I just bought a set of new Weinmann 27 x 1 1/4 clincher rims from Bike Parts USA. $25 plus shiping for the pair. Let me know about the Rigida.

One of the LBS has some rigida rims.. and he'll ship. PM me if you'd like for the contact info (I won't post it here in the interest of not having a lurker beat you to them).

I could use the link to those if they're alloy rims. Sounds interesting.

I picked up a Peugeot Mixte for $25, only to find out the frame has been in a crash. So it strip down time and put the parts on another bike. Sorry - the wheels are Rigida "Superchrome" rims, but 700C. They'll make a nice cruiser bike.
