I came across a very unique bike but......

I found a very unique 10 speed, it was made in 1976 and has shimano and 27" wheels, the bike is mint, like new all original with the original paperwork even and is a special 1976 olympic model. He wants 300 for it, but its a montgomery wards bike. the seat has the olypic design on it, the crank says 1976 olympics etc. Is this worth much being a wards bike?

It's cool but it's a gimmicky bike that's not worth $300.

I'm willing to bet it's a standard Huffy or Murray 40-lb clunker sold through Montgomery Ward with '76 Olympics graphics. Might be worth something to a collector of Olympics memorabilia but as a bicycle I doubt it's worth much of anything and certainly not $300.

i didn't look that close at it but it had shimano parts and said light weight on the frame, however the frame wasn't even lugged, so i'm sure its a cheap bike dolled up

Worth much? No.

Unique is an absolute. There are no degrees of uniqueness.

Uniquely valueless. I'd say that in a booming Craigslist market, you could get $100 - tops - for it to someone who needs good transportation - provided the tires are good, and it's fully operational/needs no tune up.
