What kind of bike is this?

Hey this seems like a fairly knowledgeable place. I'm just wondering if you guys can help me out finding what kind of bike this is. I've seen one around the town where I live but can't figure out what kind it is.

Giant.

Doesn't quite look like a "Simple" but has the right handlebars for one. That, and it seems to be a single speed with a coaster brake also point to "Simple."

You know that makes sense actually. The bike around town here (looked the same from what I could see) said "Simple" on it but when I looked up "simple bicycle company" I only turned up with a BMX company. Guess it's the model and not the make.

Thanks

It's a 2003 Giant Simple Single:

'04s acquired the tig-welded pseudo-tank on the top tube which has remained standard on the Simples to this year.
