Reviving my 1978 Schwinn Super LeTour

Been awhile since I've been on here, but after seeing PastorBob's gorgeous Super Sport, I thought I should post some pics of a 78 SLT I redid recently.

The bike was in very nice condition when I got it, but I really don't like red all that much. So I tried to sell it. 4 times. No one wanted it. After so little interest, I decided that I change the color scheme, but keep everything else on the bike original, since all of the components (even the date-coded cables, and the hoods!!) were in great condition. Only stuff I changed out were the tires (yeah, they were the originals, too), and that saddle (ugh was that uncomfy). Here's a few before/afters. Enjoy!

The before, with original tires and all.

After, with new paint and decals. The first photo is the latest shot of the bike, with the original wheels with those neat semi-high flange hubs.

Great job Duane! I didn't know what to expect so when I scrolled past the original shots, I was quite pleased! Very slick! I did the same thing to the stem on Sporty, only I used a yellow background and used candy red on the "S." Are you still running 27" wheels or are they 700c?

Thanks everyone!
Frame size, I believe, is a 22 inch, which is about a 58cm.

Thanks Bob!
The wheels are the original Arayas, 27x1 1/8. I like 'em cause of the large flange Shimano hubs. I found Conti UltraSports at Nashbar during one of their sales (like they have EVERY DAY), and got 'em for $12 each. Nice tires.

Nice....

I liked the look of the original paint, but then as I scrolled down, I like that custom paint job,

VERY NICELY DONE!!
