Paolo Dotti bicycle

I recently bought a Dotti road bike. It appears to be from a small production shop in Ghedi, Italy. I believe that Paolo Dotti was a racer but do not know any more about him or his relationship to the bicycles. The frame is steel, and has Shimano 105 brakes, crank, and deraillures. The frame dropouts and seat post are Campy. The top tube and downtube are ovalized at the head tube and round at the other tube ends. There is a Dotti Personal sticker on the chainstay. The frame is purple and the lugs are chrome. The story is that a U.S. serviceman had it made for him at the shop. Does anyone have information about these bikes or know where to find out more? Thanks

Nice bike, interesting geometry (or maybe just the slant in the pic makes it look that way). Anyways, I know nothing about the bike, but Paolo Dotti was an italian racer. He was thrown in jail for 2-9 months on doping charges. Don't know what he actually served, if anything at all ... I also know he was a good rider.

Dotti

Interesting. I couldn't find anything on the web related to Paolo Dotti as a bike rider, but there are a few items about Paolo Dotti who was a pro cyclist. I recently bought a circa 1960s Dotti frame off eBay. Only logo on the bike is on the head tube. Drilled rear drop outs are neat though,

Re: pax139 ....Are you confused with Juan Paolo Dotti (Argentinian) instead of Paolo Dotti (Italian) who was the one with drug use charges?
There was also an Italian rider named Octavio Dotti, now retired.
I recently bought an old Dotti frame off eBay. Very difficult to find any info about the company, but I believe it to be from Dotti shop in Ghedi, Italy (near Brescia)
