Toeclips ARGH!!!!

Toeclips ARGH!!!!

So far I have bought 3 sets of plastic toe clips and none of them fit my feet, even the ones advertised as having plenty of room for mountain biking shoes. Well I wear sneakers or running shoes, not skinny little alien shoes.

Am I missing something? What happened to those nice old fashioned metal ones that you could bend if necessary?

Has anyone resolved this issue? Can we soak these in really hot water and reshape them?

Google toeclips.

forget that plasticrap, get some nice chromed toe clips and you can bend 'em all day long.

unfortunately for my Tri-aspirations, i just about gave up on using running shoes whilst biking with MKS metal clips. Pumas and lower-profile skate shoes work nicely for me.

I ordered pedals, toe clips, and straps from: http://www.yellowjersey.org/toeclip.html

a few weeks back. The woman I spoke with was very helpful. Low s/h charges, they went out the day after I ordered them, and a LBS (not to me though) to boot

I've had some luck using running shoes with toe clips when I buy the XL "double" clips from Eleven81. They are wide and fit my running shoes. I have trouble at triathlons because I can barely stand to do the transistion. I've learned to carry a milk crate to sit on. I'm old, and this body, when not in motion, tends to stay at rest!

Even Nashbar sells metal toe clips. I know that because I googled "toeclips".

I like the alloy ones -- have a pair of Cinellis that are 20-some years old, get dragged on pavement every time I ride, and they're still going strong. Easy to bend, too. And still available in different sizes from people like Mikashima (MKS). Bought a spare pair recently from AEBike or LickBike or BikeToolsEtc.
