Bottecchia for 75$?
|
Looks good for the price.

From the pic it doesn't appear to be anything special but it's probably worth at least that.
|
all the components were italian, dolamiti rims, ballili breaks or something, deluxe champion version or something... this guy was very unclear with his description and i dont think he knows anything about the bike. but he's 5'8 and he can touch the ground with his toes when hes on the seat.

I just posted on your other thread. This Bottechia - though pretty - is way, way, way too big for you.

judging by what little I can make out (the crank, the stem) I think this is one of the lower-grade Bottechias, if so not one to get in a lather over, but probably worth $75...might make a fine single-speed, it that's your cuppa.

That is a late 60's to early 70's Bottecchia De Luxe, their entry level road model for the US. Frame is high-tensile steel with stamped lugs. Fork is fully chromed but only the crown is exposed. You can strip the paint and it is polished underneath. Components varied but a typical example might have a steel three arm cottered crankset, Ballila center-pull brakes, high flange Gnutti hubs with wing nuts, Dolomiti chrome plated steel rims, and Simplex Prestige front and rear derailleurs. $75 is a fair price. It might go for twice that on eBay in nice shape.
