ID This Beautiful Steel Frame
I'll take pictures and post them shortly, but wanted to get some info on a steel framed bike I just acquired. It's a gray Columbus steel frame with no name painted on it. The identifying characteristics are the doves carved/stamped into the seatstays and the fork crown and says COLUMBUS. The lugs are also punched with hearts and they're filed down almost to the frame itself.
Where the serial number normally is all it says is BMZ and on the other side 58. Any information would be great. Thanks. |
Might be an Italian frame sold by Performance? But pics needed.

BMZ = Biemmezeta; see this thread, and search the forum for BMZ

Any other information? Thanks in advance. |
Could be a Palo Alto. BMZ was a contract house, and made a lot of frames for them. Do a search for Palo Alto on the forum, and look for the catalog scans.

I had a DeBarnardi in the 80's with hearts on the lugs like that but don't recall any doves. Looks sweet.

i vote for it being a palo alto as well.

I'm pretty positive that it is a Palo Alto. Look over the pics at this link:
