English Frame? ID help

I was given this frame for helping a guy out with his bike. He said a friend had brought it over from England. The only markings on it are Columbus on rear drops and a painted by "API New Chingford" sticker on seat tube. Any ideas?

I love the red. The fork reminds me of my 78 Woodrup. It doesn't have the seatstays I was expecting to see though, so all I have to offer is "nice bike" :)

Do you have a full on side shot?

My Guerciotti has the exact same bottom bracket shell.

It's more likely Italian, given the fork blades/crown and the BB shell (which is a Silva investment casting, I believe) and the Columbus DOs...hope it also has quality Columbus tubing, it probably does. Check the width (70mm?) and threading of the BB shell, check the inside of the base of the steerer (fork) for "rifling": 5 very subtle raised spirals.

The bb is 68, seat tube is 27.0 The seat bolt says Super Sport Italy. The parts that the previous owner kept were a mix: Mostly 105 with Campy Brakes and Cinelli bars and stem. No seat post. I'm not seeing rifling.
