Where do i get new decals? Make my own?

I have been building some bikes off of old frames and was wondering where i could find new decals or possibly have my own custom ones made? Does anyone know how i would go about this?

you can get them made at sign shops. If it's a common brand, ebay. There have been several threads about this just in the last few days
I want to have some made for the frames I built, trying to figure out the best place to do that.

Yep, sign shops.

I have drawn up some decals in something like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw (Vector drawing programs) and taken the file to a sign shop to make. Seems to work out.

You made your own frames? That's neat! What tubing do you use?

You can research water-slide decals, or use a sign shop, or make your own with a dye-sublimation printer so they won't fade.
Or, you can get JRrestore and skip all the mistakes, lost time and money.

Is JRrestore still in business? Some months ago I sent him some artwork for bike decals and he said he'd get back to me on a cost and then disappeared.

I designed my own downtube decals online and had them made for $.15 per letter by an online signmaker. They're gold outlined in black. The material is vinyl and they have a UV protective coating. I'd post a picture, but I'm at work and access to Webshots is blocked.

Reynolds and Columbus, lugged or lugless steel. Next build will be True Temper.

Ah, a frame builder!

In that case, you might check with Gary Prange at Screen Specialty Shop*. They make decals for many cycling companies, in a variety of decal media. Like waterslide, dry transfer and powdercoatable styles.

They DO NOT sell decal sets for owner repaints. They are an industry source for decals.

But that includes professional bike painters, so they (I) have access to Gary's library. ;)

I made these decals in photoshop and printed them my self on waterslide decal stock with an inkjet printer.
After I applied them I shot the whole bike with clearcoat. Two years, no problems.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out.
