Schwinn Suburban
This thing is from the 70's, it is a sh*t brown color, and in very good, all original shape, is it worth anything? My step dad wants to know.

There's not much of a demand for vintage gas-pipe Schwinn "lightweights". Is it mens or women's? One, three or ten speed? Touring (with upright handlebars) or road, (with drops)?
By the way, it's Sierra Brown. |
Probably not worth much. You might get lucky and get $40 on ebay, until the buyer realizes it'll cost $50 to ship.

Its a mens 10 speed with uprights....i didn't think it was worth all that much, he just wanted to know. thanks all!

If it is in truly very good, original shape, it may be worth $50 to 100 to a local buyer. The prices of vintage Schwinns have been rising gradually, but there are still alot of them out there. I hate to admit this, but you could probably do best by parting it out on eBay, as most of the components are useful to people fixing up Varsinentals and other classic Schwinns.

Vintage bikes like this are actually very popular right now in Portland. Several local thrift stores do a thriving business in them. My guess is that they get them at garage sales, estate sales and estate auctions, probably for next to nothing. They resell them in as-is condition in the $75 to $150 price range.
