What's your dream bike
I love to see everyone's bikes here and it shows the great taste everyone has. With all the great bikes here I was wondering what everyones dream bike was. I'll start it off with mine that I just happened to find. It is Volker Diehl's '88 Paramount Wheaties/Schwinn team bike. I've always loved those bikes but never thought I would be albe to get one. Anyway lets see those dream bikes.

My 1970 Paramount P13 custom painted a Honeydew green, hotrodded with Campy Super Record and Modolo Professional brakes-
And............. A stainless steel 56cm Rigi (still looking for one!) |
Sporty was a dream which took over a year to finish. It was worth the wait!

narrow it down to only ONE bike?! hmmm... with much respect to road and mountain bikes, i gotta hole in my soul that can only be filled with balloon whitewalls dripping in chrome. (as i stare off into the distance, pondering, my thoughts covered in chrome) 1951 schwimm black phantom cruiser to be specific, but any early 50's schwinn full dressed single speed cruiser with full on fenders, rack, springer fork, tank horn and light, whitewalls as far as the eye can see, and OMG... the chrome.
actually own a 51' schwinn spitfire (blackwalls, no chrome or tankhorn)single speed cruiser and for the time being in a way it is a dream come true, for this was THE bike that got me into bikes. gateway bike if you will. |

I am putting away funds for an old Gloria for a milestone birthday. It will take a few years - but I've always wanted one for a sunday ride...

You seem like an expert, how high is his BIN price?

It's seems to be in line . Give or take a couple of hundred dollars.

Mid seventies Raleigh Professional in Mink blue/Silver. The most gorgeous bike ever created in my humble opinion. I know where one is in pristine shape, but I don't think it's for sale. I asked and left my number, but never got a call. I've even been tempted to build a fake for myself, that must mean I have it pretty bad, lol.,,,,BD

Art Stump or E.G. Bates.

I'll also vote for a mid-late 70's Raleigh Pro, in 58-59cm for me please. Failing that, a Peugeot PX-10 in classic white.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=014[/QUOTE] That seller bid on some of my items a while ago, and I noticed how much feedback he had, checked his profile, eventually got to his items for sale. He gets some nice bike stuff, classic and vintage mostly. Put him in my favorite seller's.... |
After many unsuccessful attempts to actually win one of the auctions on ebay, I finally did. I have lusted after one of these since the 70's.
