CCM Mark IV Imperial

Hey Everyone,

I rescued a CCM Mark IV Imperial (estimate year early-mid 60's), unfortunately somewhere along the way someone took apart the coaster brake and lost a piece. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to find some spare parts for a coaster brake?

Thanks

I don't know where you can find the part you need, but my first bike was a CCM Imperial Mark IV with 20 in wheels. Red with white trim. I was 8, so it would have been '61.

Good luck finding what you need. If it's just the arm, it shouldn't be too hard to find a suitable one. As I recall, those Bendix coaster brakes were pretty common, as advertised in millions of comic books.

I have the arm but i'm missing some internal goods

The arm might be stamped with some identifying info, how about sharing that or anything that's stamped on the hub. Failing that, some good closeup photos would probably be enough to identify it.

Yes, the hub brand and model should be stamped on the arm. It is most likely a CCM Hercules 37 or CCM Hercules 64, though they did sometimes offer upgrades to other makes. Once we know the make and model we may be able to come up with the missing part. Do you know what part it is? If not, we'll need a pic of the disassembled hub, so we can determine what's missing.

While I may or may not be able to help you out with the part, I can at least narrow down the model year of the bicycle, if you post the serial number

Thanks T-Mar. It's currently at the LBS, he's had it for awhile now (2 months) and hasn't found any parts. I'm trying to speed up this process. I'll swing down there today or tomorrow and grab a photo and get as many details as I can.

Alright here are the pictures I was able to get when I dropped by the store. I'm once piece away from having a working bike!

The hub is definitely a CCM Hercules. What you are missing is the "long wedge". Unfortunately these parts are not intercnageable between the '37 and '64 versions of the hub as the angles and lengths are different. However, the hub does appear to be the '64 model and if so, this should be stamped on the arm. Please confirm.
