It's an '80 or '81, as they only did the chrome head-lugs for those years. Truly one of the nicest Bianchi's ever! Really deserves correct Super Record, OR 10's, and all the panto stuff. Looks like yours in in fantastic shape. I would love to have a similar frame in a 54-55cm.

Would need to see close-ups of the drop-outs but I don't think that's a 50's bike. Looks just like the entry level early 70's frame. But could be an older low-end model? No internal bearing head-lugs, so not worth bothering with. Although I do like the custom painted fork crown:)

A question about the Piaggio sticker -- did these only appear on the '81 models? I've seen some Bianchi's with the sticker on the side of the seat tube and some as the head badge.

Interesting to note that Bianchi had these in the 50's (don't know if anyone else did) and now they have been reincarnated as "integrated headsets."

Piaggio took over US distribution of Bianchi in 1980 until sometime in the mid 80's (?). The Piaggio decals were used on the seat-tube for most '80-'83 models. I've only seen it used as a head-tube "badge" on 1980 models. My '80 Rekord 748 was decaled like that.

Here are mine, I'm looking to trade or part out the first one as it's a bit small. The second one is my baby.

It's a shame you don't ride it.

Why?

It makes no sense to ride a bike like this on the road. The nearest track is 4 hours away, but I will drag it up there once in awhile.

I have no problem with wall hangars, I have many bikes to ride and I bet I put in a lot more miles a week than you.

Wow - some stunning Bianchi's.

Otis' Specialissima, Rekord and Super Pista reflect a wonderful collection of the marque, and, luckily, their in the hands of a true collector.

Family belly's Super Corsa frame is simply brilliant. The '53 frame does look like a '53 frame. It is very similar to my '54 frame without the chrome. Bianchi did kit their 50's bikes out with some special bits and pieces - 'B' marked nuts, engraved cranks and hubs, etc,etc. Very difficult to source these days.

Yellowjeep - great looking bike that looks well set up for riding.

Kemmer's mid 80's bike with many original parts - someone (small) is going to get a bike they will be very proud of and his other deep blue Bianchi - looks Japanese and 90's - but its a Bianchi and that definately alters the way you feel when riding your bike - its a Bianchi!!!
