Paging Scooper & Bob H; Panasonic Schwinn MTB question
This is the exact model that I just picked up: https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...ad_Cat_10.html
I have been sitting on a decent NOS Manitou 1 1/8" front suspension for a while and just came across a super sweet Schwinn MOS S7 Team Issue MTB in my size that happens to have 1 1/8" headset. It also has the best Deore group that was ever made, IMHO...
The chainstays on this are those beautiful curved ones, if you remember those...
Black and Red paint is close to pristine (For an MTB) and the downtube decal says "Made in Japan for Schwinn.." Best of all: Full Tange tri-butted steel F/F !!
Am I correct in thinking that these were made by Panasonic? I always regretted selling the other Panasonic MTB that I had, so this would be a great catch for me if it's a Panny....
What exactly does the MOS/KOM stand for...??
Most of my MTB's do not have suspension, but I'd like to change this one out to a FS. I've never seen a BAD Panasonic MTB and am wondering if these were made in Osaka....??
Supposedly the best ones came from that plant.....

Mountain Oversize and King of the Mountains. See this page for details on the frame build theory:

This is probably a Panasonic build, but I can't swear to it ...
Adding suspension may throw your geometry off a bit -- I'll let others more familiar with the conversion speak to that.

Thanks Bob, Much appreciated! As always... You da' Man!!
I'm not too worried about the geometry......I think that it will work just fine here: https://coloradoskihistory.com/lost/bpass.html

Well, here she is.... I loves me a Panasonic MTB! Rides like a dream but can shred technical Mtn trails with the best of them.... Many thanks to Jon at Grinderbikes here in Denver for yet another killer build

Thanks Purevl,
Who says vintage steel MTB's ain't a blast to ride

The N side of the Mtn was slushie and icepacked, so I had to take the road back down....Top speed was 45 MPH
