Found a Raleigh and ccm

Found these two last night, and a GT this morning, the gt I don`t think is vintage though, the CCM looks like it`s fairly old, that or extremly crappy lol wich it might be, I think theres not one alloy piece on that, raleigh looks low also.

The raleigh looks just like one I had. yes all steel not one piece alloy. Got $120 for it in the philly market. Guy knew bikes and wanted a bar runner no one would steat and he could crash with out worry.

The CCM is a circa 1973-1976 Targa. It was their entry level model. Hi-tensile frame and primarily steel components. Should have aluminum stem, shift levers and possibly brake levers. This was the only lightweight that CCM sold in any quantity during the boom. It was inexpensive and appealed to parents who identified with the CCM brand and had kids screaming for a 10 speed. Having said that, it did not compare well against the competition being offered by brands such as Apollo, Sekine, Peugeot and Raleigh.

I don't know about that CCM. Looks like the frame builder left it very fuzzy. :innocent:

Has a leather saddle though. :)

Where do you just "find" these bikes??

Maybe the guy just couldn't focus that day, having been up all night watching the '76 election?

,

thanks for info, garbage day is where I get my bikes, the gt is nice but the alloy is split on rear end by wheel mount, is it fixable? nice bike indeed though frames to small for me anyway, but parts are good.

HSean - Can you get a close up of that saddle and tell me if you can read anything on it ?

IMHO, the frame on the GT is not worth repairing if, in fact, the frame is cracked. Is it the frame thats cracked or is it the screwed on, derailer hanger mount. If its' the mount, it can be replaced and would certainly be worth it.
The Rock Shox and other parts are certainly worth salvaging.
That's a really low end Raleigh, but still probably worth salvaging.
Nice finds, especially for free.
