Yeah nice bike, but I'd maybe go half of that half. Maybe.

Does anyone know where the Olympian model ranks in the Puch hierarchy?
Here some info from Sheldon Brown's site about Austro-Daimler (Puch), but the Olympian model is curiously absent.

Thanks for the date correction Kurt.

........... That's only worth 1/4 the price.

The frame doesn't seem much different from my '83-'85 Puch A/D Pacifica, but I can't really see it that clearly in the pics. The components are not that much better either. The bars, bar tape, brakes, hoods and levers, and cable covers are identical to the originals on mine. I got mine for $20 at a thrift store and put about $150 into it as a restore. I love the bike, but 1K for that one is a little ambitious, I think.

$3.50

Maybe you can get $500 knocked off because you are heartbroken to find it's not a "Pugh." And it's really a Puch. Darn! You've been looking everywhere for a 'Pugh!'

Whatever - a nice (that is one) Puch is a wonderful bike! I'd go after it tooth & nail! Rule One: When negotiating, always carry a roll of $20's.

Rober 11-12-08 08:07 AM

If you would like an A/D you could put a "wanted" ad in CL and offer to pay 100 bucks. There is a pretty good chance someone has one sitting around in their garage that they haven't ridden in years and would like to get rid of. Then, when you go over to see it, find something "wrong" and offer them $80 from your roll of 20s. Hey, they'd try the same thing with you...

Panthers007 11-12-08 10:29 AM

I already have the pick-of-the-litter, thanks. Someone else should find out what I already know.

+1 $3.50.
