odd tire size

while looking on e bay i came across an old bike from norway that the seller says has 26 1/2 in tires that are still available.has anyone heard of this size and where can you get them?

Some people will abbreviate 26" x 1-1/2" as 26 1/2 in. Perhaps that's what's happening here.

650B is sometimes referred to as 26 x 1 1/2, but you need much more info to know for sure. Take a look at http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html.

Seller is probably confused. Get him to read you the tire size front and rear off the bike. I am guessing it is a 26 inch wheel, where tires are plentiful.

If it is truly some really odd size, I would walk away. Good deals on bikes come up all the time. No need to get one that will be hard to maintain..

26x1 1/2 is different from 26x1.5! make sure the seller gets that.
