Need a quick answer...

Is a $150 for NOS Suntour Sprint components (shifter and derailleurs) in new condition a deal? It's the correct components for my Panasonic and I'm seriously considering it. I just don't know if it's a reasonable price. Don't give me that "It's worth what you're willing to pay" crap, I just wanna know if it's a good deal or not. I've seen the individual components for cheaper, but, never in such good condition.
Thanks.

But, that is the answer. It's worth what you are willing to pay. For example, I wouldn't pay $10 for a Varsity. Others would happily pay that. So for me, the $10 Varsity is not a deal but to someone else it is.

Here

http://cgi.ebay.com/NOS-Suntour-Spri...3A1|240%3A1318

is a recently completed auction of a NOS sprint group--derailers and shifters. No takers at 140 auction, 145 buy it now.

Sprint was #2 at Suntour, just below Superbe.

Sprint is good stuff...I bought a group in about 1984 and raced it for a couple of seasons. I seem to recall that the dealer cost on that was about $200 or so. Are the parts really nnnnnnew? or are they just sorta ebay nnnew?

Is it the Suntour "Spirt" that was on the older Raleighs, etc, or a newer indexed version? I lost my Suntour chart. See where the GPX lines up in that order, and PM me.

Anything from NOS Bicycle Shop is about double what it's worth, unless you have to have it.
For example, their Suntour GPX complete group has been sitting there at $599 for a couple of years.

w/o crankset and pedals: over priced. unless you're trying to build up a near NOS bike that was originally spec'ed with sprint I'd pass. The guys at NOS Bicycle Shop are nice, I've emailed them a number of times, but yeah, they want what they want for the gear and rarely come down from it.

Alright, guys. , thanks alot. Honestly, though... I thought that complete GPX group

Alright, guys, thanks alot. Honestly, though.. I thought that complete GPX group seemed like a deal. Evidentally it's not as much of one as I thought. Ah well. Thanks for keeping me from spending way too much on it all. My Panasonic can wait for its OE stuff, I really just wanna ride it soon.
Again, thanks for the responses.
