Campy BB spindle lenght?

longtime "urban commuter" building up my first frame, an 80s Medici Pro-Strada, 65cm, because I'm getting fat (34 years old) and need to exercise...

My current problem: I got an old Sugino BB and matching crankset, but the spindle (measured at 117mm) is too short and the inside chainring rubs on the chainstay, so I'm looking for something loinger, I mean longer...I found a Campy BB and matching SuperRecord crankset, but the guy can't/won't measure it for whatever reason. so my question:

What are the chances that a 15-20 year old Campy BB (SuperR.? don't know, waiting to find out) has at least 120 mm spindle?

Is your Medici English threaded? I'm assuming it is, if you put an old Sugino BB on it, unless you forced it on.

English and Italian are different widths, though Campy is available in both English and Italian. What is the width of the BB shell? The Campy spindle will be marked either 68 or 70.

The Sugino should be too...

Didn't Medici evolve from the Masi USA ruins? If so, might be Italian thread, and 70 width.

the Medici BB is Italian threaded, 70mm...the Ofmega BB I had fit fine, but the spindle was just a bit short. need longer spindle. anybody know if there was a Campy standard spindle length 20 years ago?

The standard Record/Nuovo Record/Super Records were pretty standard EXCEPT there were thick cups in the early days and thin cups later, which makes the spacing between the race ridges in the spindle vary.
But I'm not totally up on the details; usually the standard Italian spindle is marked 70-120 I think.

Maybe the arms are worn and going on too far; sometimes you can add a freewheel spacer under the fixed cup to move it out a hair. (though more commonly needed on English bikes it seems)
