I do not know why I keep looking at this shifter but it looks like a homemade bracket made from a SIS stem shifter mount.

Nope, not my bike but ironically it IS a pic of an '85 Team owned by another BF member. My 105 shifters just use a clamp mount... rather ugly.

Oh I see your bike had a top mounted shifter at one time (likely Suntour?) and was upgraded to shimano SIS. you need to findout how that other BFr made his bracket.

again it looks to me like it was made from a SIS stem shifter mount, something like this. he ditched the cheap shifters and put the 600 ones on

ISO:
-Shimano 600/105 group or complete Suntour group including a 26.6 seatpost please. My only requirements are functionality, something meet my budget, and shifters to mount on the top of DT as opposed to the sides. I have an aero braze-on.

Have:
-Random offerings (do anybody's kids play with GI Joes? If so, I've got some from 'childhood' )
-Some bike parts, but not many.
-And things I can't mention in this particular thread...

HAVE: Shimano 600 tri-color crankset, 175mm, with chainrings (53/42) - lightly used, some wear and tear, all threads and square tapers in excellent condition

NEED:
-Same or similar crankset, but 170mm, chainrings or no (looking for more like 50/40 probably). Doesn't have to be Shimano 600 as long as it's similar and decent.
-Aero brake levers
-White bar tape
-Randonneur bars

NEED:
-Same or similar crankset, but 170mm, chainrings or no (looking for more like 50/40 probably). Doesn't have to be Shimano 600 as long as it's similar and decent.
-Aero brake levers
-White bar tape
-Randonneur bars

ISO Late 70's or early eighties Universal sidepull brake calipers. Not long reach.. Dia Compe G's ft perfect, and they're medium reach I guess?,,,,,BD

I have some gorgeous levers, but the rear Mod 61 caliper starts after the rim ends, oops

Update:Found, installed, and LOVE them!

ISO:

A double crank. Any crank...almost. It's going on a Novara Tange 1 frame with a BB-UN91. I have a set of Nervar cranks that I tried to get on there, but the offset seems wrong and the inside ring hits the chainstay. This bike is off to a new home when I can find a crank set that will work...

Thanks!

What is the length of your bottom bracket spindle? You probably just need a longer one. I might be able to help you there.

Forgot to measure it....will have to do that in that AM.

Incidentally, a Shimano 6400 crankset came off of there, and worked just fine. I think the Nervar set-up is recessed a little bit and so sits in too far.

I believe the Shimano 6400 crankset was best fit to a 113mm spindle but can also get away with a 115mm. Check Sheldon Brown's site for more info on proper spindle length based on the crankset

edit: yes that is right and here is the link http://www.sheldonbrown.com/bbsize.html

Speaking of Shimano 6400 cranksets. I'm looking for:

Shimano 6400 Crankset Compatible Dust Caps

Preferably in the matching colour or similar. Black will look kind of out of place.

I have to offer:

Not a lot so PM me
