I need a cable guide, I only need one and the cheapest Nova Frame Supply can ship it to me is $14 for the $.84 item. I will do this if no one has one or any or leads to a cheaper option.

Here is what I need.

Thanks!
Jake

Looking for an aluminum seatpost for an '83 Bianchi Alloro. The old post was oxidized to the steel and couldn't be freed (we even tried liquid Nitrogen!), so we sadly had to saw it out. The tube is cleaned up and ready to go, but I really want to get a similar seatpost for the build.

Not much to trade with, but happy to work with you on figuring it out. Thanks in advance for any help!

Not much to trade with, except paper money. Thanks in advance for any help!
Three things quickly:

1. Please remove any reference to money, currency, etc. in your post as that is strictly forbidden in this thrread.

2. What diameter/type of post are you seeking?

3. Welcome to BC C& V. Be sure to read the rules.

The previous poster may well have been talking about some obsolete form of currency with no particular value as legal tender. He mentioned trading money, not purchasing with it.
I admit that I haven't read the rules, though I do try to follow them.

Don't know the specs off the top of my head, but I will post them over the weekend.

Thanks. I would have posted a WTB message in C&V Marketplace, but sadly I cannot as I am too new to the forum. Is there a better place for me to post that type of message?

They want you to be a paying member (note the yellow jersey next to some of our names) in order to post for sale or want to buy ads.

You can get around this in the ISO/for trade thread by simply listing "In search of: xyzyadyada" without following it with "have yabadabadoo available for trade"

This thread has been locked in the past because of sale posts. All sale and WTB posts need to go in the Marketplace forums.

You really need to list something to trade in return. And upgraded memberships can be had for as low as $3.

You know those little acorn nuts that go on the back ends of the rear DO adjusting screws? Nothing special, no "Campagnolo" pantograph, no "C", just a plain shiny knurled nut from the ones sold by Loosescrews.com as generic. Well, I lost one. It's gone, vanished, split, disappeared into thin air. Dang. I could order another set of those little guys, but that's a lot of money for just one little nut. Surely one of you has one from a screw you bent, and you'd love to find a good home for it, now wouldn't you?

I can trade a few things. Don't have a big parts collection, but ask away.

It rolled and bounced all the way to my house. No kidding--earlier tonight I found a stray one under a box in my work area and was wondering what to do with it--karma in action. PM me your address and I'll stick it in an envelope and send it to you.

Is that a 753 frame? If so, I wouldn't recommend re-brazing the cable guide. Reynolds was never enthusiastic about braze-ons on 753 tubing in the first place, and re-brazing would only exacerbate the concerns.

Use a zip-tie or clamp-on guide instead.

The real stretch, a 36 or 38 tooth Stronglight Biostrong alloy chain ring. These are similar to Biopace.

What are your thoughts on using JB weld or similar to reattach the cable guide in a case like this? The cable housing probably doesn't put too much stress on the guide (or does it?). Would beat the aesthetics of one clamp on guide and only require a small amount of touch up paint. No heat either. Worst case you look down to find a detached guide dangling on the cable somewhere.
