Looking for a shimano 1055 front hub cone. Mine is pitted. Will buy an entire hub for parts.

Also what's a good resource for bearings?

Are the races in a 1055 hub replaceable? I do not see them listed as "parts" anywhere. Pretty much any decent LBS should have plenty of bearings in stock. Cones and such....a bit of a different matter. Fewer and fewer seem to stock parts, especially for older models. This link seems to have a lot of hub parts available. https://wheelsmfg.com/hub-parts

Thanks for the link. They do list the cones for sale but not in stock.

Still looking for the 50-tooth Stronglight 93/49 ring. Two more things also: a Suntour Compe V front derailleur with a 28.6 clamp, and a non-captive mounting bolt for an older-style Suntour Cyclone rear derailleur. According to Disraeli Gears, that mounting bolt had decorative serrations around the rim of the bolt head--not exactly sure how you'd recognize one otherwise.
As mentioned previously, I have trade goods

ISO Campagnolo Record Front Derailleur (1052/1) which actually has the cable stop on it like this:

Have: Record/N. Record ones without stops, and a bunch of other stuff.

I need a front recessed nut. The one that came on my brake doesn't fit because the head is too wide to fit in the recessed hole in the fork. I also need 27.2 seatpost and a 27.0mm headset. Not too picky about any of these and I have some things to trade.

The fit of the recessed nut on my Medici's fork was very tight. You might find a little sandpaper on the nut or the opening does the trick. I have a few of those nuts. If you measure the length and diameter of your nut and the hole in your fork, I'll see what I can dig up when I get home. Don't think I can help with the seatpost or the headset.

OK thanks, I hadn't thought about sanding, I'll try that.

If this bike is a keeper, take it to the LBS and have them mill the crown race to 26.4. You'll have a lot more options in headset that way. I gave up on 27.0 recently.

You mean mill the fork where the headset sits down to 26.4?

Yes, mill the crown race on the fork from 27.0 to 26.4. That said your LBS should have access to Tange Levin 1" threaded headsets in 30.0 mm cup / 27.0 mm crown race if they purchase through JBI or possibly Merry Sales.

I'll look when I get home. I might. But I just remembered I *should* have a Laprade too but I can't seem to fine it.

I'm going to try to file down the headset I have first. Are cup diameters important?

My parts bin has basically three variants. See the attached pic. They are all nominally 8mm OD, 10mm length to the shoulder. The left and right are just snugger and looser versions of the same thing. The pair in the middle have a much larger shoulder, 12mm diameter v. 10mm for the other two pairs.

If you need something from this modest collection, PM me your choice and address.

Shoota, if that seat post is for the Ironboy, they take a 27.0, not a 27.2.
27.0 headsets are easy to find, Tange ones are all over the place. Late 80's Shimano TENAX frames used them too.

Wow I'm glad you told me. The 27.2 I have (but can't use) seemed to go in ok so i thought it was 27.2.

I am currently searching for two Campy NR Cranksets. I would prefer that one of them be from 1970 (for my 1970 Raleigh International build) and the other from 1972 (for my 1972 Raleigh Professional build). On the '72, I am flexible there...but am really wanting the International to be 1970.

I have a good bit of stuff to trade...what are you looking for?

Let me know!
