I used your scratch X tip on one of my frames since I had some laying around, worked great. I was using commercial grade car polish / glaze and I think I like the scratch X results better.

She was a beautiful bike... my Sophia.
Japanese made and an absolute delight to ride but just a little too long in the leg for me. http://www.ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/Sophia.jpg |

The veloce gruppo is near the top of the campi line up, like the 3rd or 4th down for that time period.

This is true now but back in the mid to early 90's the veloce was a better gruppo considering that not many were STI or brifters. Now the veloce isn't what they were then if that makes sense.

4th. Which is second from the bottom. and it is outsourced these days to asia... making it near the bottom. I'd say it is close to 105 level. Centaur being close to ultegra and chorus close to dura-ace...record being on another level.. that is until this year... not dura-ace and record are at about par... super record being above dura-ace and chorus and centaur falling somewhere below dura-ace but still above ultegra.

I still have all my NR stuff and some SR stuff. But I wouldn't want to buy a bike with new Campy today. Its just soooo expensive! |

Yeah, I'll agree with the general consensus about Japanese made Bianchi's. I've been happy as all get out with my Nyala conversion, and the following is an '88 Strada LX I picked up for a co-worker of mine and refurbished for him. His first bike. If the frame had been 4cm larger, he'd have gotten his money back, not the bike:

Just took some new shots in the morning light.
http://www.jaysmarine.com/bianchi_alloro_1.jpg http://www.jaysmarine.com/bianchi_alloro_2.jpg I don't know about anyone else here, but I can't say that Celeste Green does anything for me (unless it is Gary Fountain's '54 TdF replica!) The lugwork is particularly pathetic too - one would expect them to file the ends at least. -Kurt |
