Seems that's all the pics I'm allowed to load today I did a fifty mile out and back in unseasonably cool weather. Riding to Tetiz is like riding back in time.

Riverside Drive near the Chattahoochee River!
Took my Raleigh Super Course out for its "shakedown cruise" along the Chattahoochee today...great ride with good scenery and the bike rode great...it needs a few tweaks, but what build up doesn't?

80+miles with two friends, North 40 miles into a headwind and hills, lunch, and then 40 back on flatter roads with a tailwind.
Like most other spring feverites, we caught the tailwind and the level-ness made us do the go-go-go on the way back.
Average pulls were 3-4 miles. I have no idea why we were in a hurry.
No pics, I could barely stand up, much less hold a camera.

I got out for a couple hours and bouted with a pretty strong headwind for the return home.
This stretch is flat and probably a couple miles long. On an average day it's pretty easy to pedal at a good clip. Today it felt like maybe 12-14mph at most.

After 87 miles on Saturday, a 6hr hike on Sunday, and two days of commuting, I'm tired. Sleep would be good. Sleep hasn't been readily available lately though.

Not the best of rides for me today. My little beagle got out today and wandered off into the woods on a scent. Spent about 3 hours on the mountain bike trying to find him. When he gets on a scent, he makes a pretty unmistakable howl. Never heard him once. My wife went out in the car to post signs in the neighborhood, and heard him from a light pole where she was fixing a sign. Long story short, he's back and I got some miles in on the local gravel roads through the state forest behind my house. All's well that ends well.

I rode down to see the aftermath of a gas explosion that occurred early this morning in my town. The barbershop where I get my haircut was wiped out by this. No one was hurt.

Thank you. It is a rather nice rider. The frame is very scratched, paint gone over parts of the left seat stay. But that doesn't hurt the ride. I got this frame (and RD) from Top506 a year or so ago.
Its gearing is different from my other bikes. The big ring is 53, compared to my typical 47 or 48. The little ring is 38, IIRC, so I get the lows from a wide-spaced FW. Finally, the cranks are 172.5. I think I can feel the extra length.
Most of the components are Japanese. Araya rims on Sanshin hubs, MKS AR2 pedals, Shimano derailleurs (in friction mode), Shimano crank and brakes, might be Weinmann levers.

I had intended to ride a fairly local century ride tomorrow, but the weather looks like it will be rain and 25-30mph east winds (no thanks). On top of that, they predict six straight days of rain. So, with that in mind, I rode 86 today which was a mix of hill training and wind eating. Photo from picturesque Marine on St Croix, the general store was a pit stop along the way.

Saturday April 26th ride around the Lake.
This was 3 days in a row of riding.
It feels great to be back on the bike again.
Today was the day for my 29 year old Specialized Rock Hopper, a fantastic bike.
It is light weight, extremely agile, strong brakes, strong crank, nice wheels and tires.
It is just a pleasureful rider. It was expensive when new, glad I still have it.
The overflow from the dam I was on, is the 2nd pic.
The trails were still pretty damp, as they are in April.
I carry the bike over the mud, because I don't like to contribute to the erosion- it really wrecks the trail, but most riders don't think about that.
Some trees were downed by the February ice storm, and took a hunk of the trail with them.
The yellow woodland flowers were very pretty.
A dogwood on its side still bloomed.
That is not the tinmans hat. It is a duck house amidst lilly pads, that has sunken over the harsh winter.
You usually do not want to shoot into the sun, but a cloud made the shot possible. There is a small fishing boat and two fishermen, in that speck on the water.
