I said previously...
Thank you to everyone who kindly mentioned that my Forte seat looked a little odd in other photos, like it was pointing downwards just a bit. You all are correct! It was... I brought my bike onto my back porch (flat level concrete), stepped away and sighted my '85 Fuji by eye, and yup... the seat was not quite right.
A simple loosening of the big allen bolt, a tweak here and there, keep the seat straight and level, hold everything tight by hand/fingers, and then crank down on the allen bolt. Viola!
If I ever meet up with any of you, I owe you a beer!
Anyway, I am going to double check my Forte touring seat, as it looks like it's pointed downwards just a hair. Hmmm...

There be some really cool ride descriptions here. I love this thread.
All I did today on a bicycle was ride to and from work as I do most days. Yesterday it rained hard so I didn't ride. I took the Masi today. Had a dr. appointment early, then went home and grabbed a bike, wanted to get to the office as quickly as possible. It was a crazy day.
Drivers and cyclists in the 10 o'clock hour are different from those in the 7 and 8 o'clock hours. I almost got door'ed by some 50-something guy early in the morning ride.
Then I rode by some local 20-something doodling slowly in too high a gear down the center line on the Minuteman Bikeway. I called out "passing on your left" but I don't think heard me because he had earbuds in his ears and mumbled something about "close" as I went by. I think he took offense because a few minutes later he came barreling by with a cadence about 180, pulled over to the far left, then slowed down. I was afraid he was coming back to the right so I slowed and waited. After he'd weaved a few time and slowed further I called out "I'm just trying to get to work and ..." but he slowed further and called "what?" I passed, waved, and left him behind.
A bit further on I had a minor encounter with a guy driving a mail delivery truck who pulled out abruptly and cut me off. That's what they invented brake calipers for.
On the commute home drivers were either frenetic or inattentive. Oh wait, they are always either frenetic or inattentive. Today they were more so.
But then I encountered a few of these gals. Ah, life is good. At least they seemed to think so.

Still having trouble getting motivated to do much. I unfortunately have plenty of time off work and that along with some monetary anxiety seems to keep my motivation level down. I did manage to get a nice 18-20 mile ride in this morning and very hilly (to me) ride yesterday. I was out a few days last week, 22,23,24 but I just couldn't get myself out over the weekend.

I turn my back for one day and everybody goes out for a ride. Yeesh. VR, is there no end to the great scenes you encounter and great bikes you ride? I am in awe.
We took the tandem out for 66.01 miles today. The last .01 is because I looped around the end of the block to make sure we hit 66. I haven't checked the rear hub yet but it seems to have survived. We started by going out the door at 8:30AM and heading west on Main St/Rt117. It was relatively quiet, more like a Saturday than Friday, but not Sunday morning quiet. First stop, Verrill Farm.
A roundabout route through Weston, Lincoln, and Concord took us into Carlisle where we were delighted to find that one of the unique local color items has been restored to its proper place. (The barn had been rebuilt, the sign taken down, then put up for a month or so, then taken down again.)
On the same barn:
Finally, lunch at Heart Pond in Chelmsford.
It was another good day.

I rode 80 miles today in western RI and eastern CT. Weather was great.
I was down in OTG's neck of the woods. Sterling, Hopeville and Voluntown CT. I also rode in Exeter, West Greenwich, Coventry and Foster RI.
rough road out in the Pachaug Forest Park
Dam at Glasgo
old schoolhouse in West Greenwich
On a slightly embarrassing note I was passed by another rider today. I almost never get passed where I can't at least hold their wheel until I turn off or they do. Today I met my match, some guy (about 20lbs lighter and 15-20 years younger) passed me right on my home turf in Scituate. This was at mile 75 and I was pretty gassed but I caught his wheel and drafted him for 2 miles before we hit a tough climb. I have the fastest time on mapmyride for this hill the last two years, so I figured I stood a chance of not being dropped or annihilated. Nope, he rode away from me on the final steep section of the climb. He was out of the saddle almost the entire climb, while I remained seated. I had no response to that final kick.

JJS, we all get beat occasionally, especially after we've already done 75 miles. In any case, you take better pics!

Been a long haul since the first of three surgeries in October. The last was 3 weeks ago on my shoulder where about 3/8" of the end of the clavicle was removed. My physical therapist said on Wednesday I should be good to get back on the bike ("just don't crash" he said. Like I ever intend to.) So .... today was the first time out since May 19 and only the third ride since the end of April. Only 17 miles but, oh, did it feel so good. And, I was a faster than I expected I would be - granted it was a flat course and mild wind but I'll take it.

Interesting little tidbit about this irrigation canal. Some local guys made Alan Jackson's Country Boy music video by using a car on the canal road to tow a guy on water skis in the canal. Truly redneck.

44 on the 4th!
My local club hosts an "all clubs welcome" 44 mile ride for all comers. It's my third year riding it and is always fun.
Looks like around 150 showed up today.
Beautiful weather as well.

The youngest kid got us all up at 6am, so we decided to see how much we could pack in a day trip. Up to a state park, then to the Duluth waterfront, and a pleasant lunch. After that, the day got fuller when he fell against a steel fence post out to the local beach and needed 16 stitches for the cut on his calf. We stopped at the Duluth hospital but were told it would be a 3 and a half hour wait, as it wasn't an emergency. True enough, I suppose. But that wasn't going to fly with the Mrs, so she insisted we high tail it back to the cities.
Special thanks to the Minnesota State Trooper for giving me only a 9mph over speeding ticket. Second note, those clay quik-clot packs really can save your bacon (making an ER visit an urgent care visit - I will find room for one in the seat pack).
But I digress... As for the where I rode today, I managed a 12 mile ride in Jay Cooke park while the family was off exploring on foot. Was more of a search for future stops when we're up that way than an actual workout. Found these sites:
A bald eagle making a July 4 appearance
And a nearby waterfall
