Nice photos everyone. Kind of a cluster afternoon and no pics for me. I found out today the roads up in the hills/mountains behind us have been plowed out to get ready for crews to go in an plant trees to replace the ones lost in a wildfire a couple summers ago. I was stoked, pulled the Klein mtb off the wall, changed the front tire and headed up to the drop off point. I quickly realized the rear derailleur would only shift one gear and then wouldn't move. Grabbed the multi tool and loosened the cable at the derailleur. Once I determined it seemed to be jammed in the housing - probably an accumulation of grime/mud. I headed back to the shop to see if I could clean things up and get it to shift. No dice, just didn't want to work right. I grabbed a new cable and then couldn't figure out in my haste where the cable inserted into the Deore LX integrated brake lever/shifter. By then I was getting frustrated that I wasn't out riding. The wind was blowing hard which was why I wanted to escape to the hills. I ended up grabbing the Spectrum and going out to fight the wind for a brief 22 miler. While frustrating at the beginning at least I got a ride in and enjoyed some sun.

Really? Those pics you posted above look great. Very scenic. Maybe your desensitized to the beauty in your area.

The rest of the photos people have posted on this page are great as well though. Everybody is out enjoying spring.

That`s probably it. It`s 5 minutes from my house and where I ride all the time. I think I need a change of scenery. :)

No pics again today.

We did the Grand Round, a 54 mile loop in Mpls.

My goal for the two days was to find big hills and attack them.

Well that and a 100 total miles for the two days.

Mission accomplished.

Fun stuff.

I grew up on the Oregon coast. As a kid I had no idea I lived in such a beautiful place. I couldn't wait to get out of there. After high school I moved to Hawaii where I lived for about 10 years, the last couple years I have been in Colorado (both beautiful places). Ever since I left Oregon, every time I go back to visit I marvel at the scenery there and wonder how I didn't notice it while I was living there. I guess my point is that sometimes all that's needed is a little different perspective! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am getting a little older but these days I feel like pretty much everywhere I go I notice natural beauty.

Despite being pulled into several other things, did my first road bike ride of the season today with 39 miles including many in the hills around Afton. Much better totals than last year at this time. The bike will need a good cleaning tomorrow.

Cool! I'm glad everybody is having a good time outside these days. I got out for a 25 mile or so road ride today as well, it was pretty windy. But I had a blast climbing and descending hills on my '86 Cannondale.

FINALLY got to take decent ride! I didn't go far, but I definitely got a work out. Exploring some logging roads in the hills.

Afton, Wyoming?

It was a Paramount weekend. Two nice rides meandering around Seattle. Yesterday was exciting....thunder, lightening and a downpour. Today was a rare dry March day...about flipping time!

First day of non-jacket weather called for a bike ride to the Leslie St. Spit.

ok, the leslie st spit is just down the beach from me. but i didn't brave it - was too cold for me today. i did take the winter projects out for their first ride. Cinelli - awesome - i know it's physically not possible but i swear i was coasting uphill... a fine bike... CIOCC - also awesome - took it to the LBS and the bike dudes were all drooling... nice to know the young-uns appreciate the finer things... many nice days ahead...

I got out for a ride after work today, 13.4 miles in just about one hour on the nose. It would have been faster but I spent a lot of time weaving my way around stopped rush hour cars who insisted on hugging the far right side of the road.

I had the Peugeot in the car, so on the way home I stopped by Bedford's Depot Park, rode out to Concord, up Monument Rd into the edge of Carlisle, back to Bedford on 255. It was a glorious ride. And we have a fine, fine, fine crop of pot holes this year! Fortunately I didn't bust a rim like when I rode the Peugeot a few weeks ago. The wheel I strung up a few days ago held up nicely.

First fixie ride for the Univega and rider. Brakeless on this one as I await my new front brake from the lbs.

It's sefinitely going to take some getting used to. But, hey, at close to 50 yo, better late than never on riding a fixie. As always the wind decided to howl right as I was getting ready to leave. I was a little worried about the 46-18 gearing in that situation and probably experienced the slowest cadence for me in awhile on the incline home into the wind. Overall, the bike rides great. The Vittoria Open Corso Evo CX are compliant and comfortable. The only thing I noticed is the cockpit is a little too compact so I'm going to put on a little longer stem

Too bad I didn't notice the original owner of the wheels installed the tires with the label on the opposite sides

That must be around or under I-90 east of town? I need to explore some of those trails down south in the future.

I got out and rode to the Sultan Bakery for a sugar fix, and then to Everett to meet up with my wife. The weather was a great start for April, upper 50s and some sun. The Spring colors are starting to pop up.

Hopefully this will be the new path that Extends the Centennial Trail down past my home and eventually connecting to the Sammamish River Trail system. We'll see..

What a wild photo! But the bike is wonderful. Shimano Ax and the aero frames from that era.

noglider 04-02-14 12:09 PM

I finished building my CAAD7 yesterday. Then I rode it to rehearsal. Parked it outside a restaurant for a bit. Someone stole it. So I rode it exactly once. Darn!

Here it is just before I took it out.

After the theft, I reported it to the police. I don't really expect to get it back, but I'll spread the word.

Sorry Tom. Hope you'll get it back.
