Mostly a bunch of photos of the pretty Lake water.

Climbed about 900 feet elevation, had to walk for a minute, then back in the saddle.
Photos don't do justice to the technical challenge of downed trees and rocks on the trail.
Managed to stay upright for 2 hours.
Clothes are drying in the dryer. Worked up a sweat.

It was a sunny Fall day here, temps in the 50's F, somewhat breezy, but nice.
So many pretty ladies on the trail today.

I am always surprised at how good I feel after a ride.

This thread is like a bike tour through many exotic places! :)
Went on my standard 30 mile ride around the bay today- the Peugeot that was formerly a "bum bike" is a delight- it justs want to roll plus it's a comfortable ride. Hard to beat that combo.

duo r, that sure looks inviting. In that last pic is that smoke or fog?

Yesterday, I rode with 20 other cyclists along the Old Croton Aqueduct trail. We started in Yonkers and went up to the Croton Dam. We rode back to Ossining where several of us got on the train back to Yonkers or New York or wherever we were going.

BF member @aixaix loaned me his amazing Cannondale bike with awesome hydraulic piston brakes and vintage carbon fiber suspension fork. Last year I did this ride on my Bianchi Volpe, and that was OK, but this was lower stress and higher fun as a result of the bike. I plowed over everything and hardly ever had to dismount. I stayed upright the whole time.

Smoke. Leaf burning is still a thing in WI. That was the only smoke event I saw, though.

I went west from Waukesha. The first 12 or so miles are paved and, it seemed, pretty popular. Once it turned to crushed stone, the crowds thinnned to almost nothing, although it was a spectacularly nice day. Next time I would just start further west.

It's been a while since I've browsed this thread. Great pics guys! I need to post a few pics from my various rides over the past month. It's been a combination of road rides on my 81 Trek 710 and offroad excursions on my 14 Specialized AWOL. I'll try to get some pics up tonight

Yesterday I did 17 miles on my cross bike at Mt. Laguna/Noble Canyon east of San Diego. My route started off with a big climb which was a shock at semi-high altitude - I'm not used to riding in the mountains and I started off around 6,000 feet.

By the end I could have kept going though... but I had to be back in SD for something. Next time I'll spend a whole day out there and bring lots of food.

Today was the day to find out whether the new "All-Day" bike lived up to its name.

I got an early morning start and passed this old schoolhouse near my house just as the sun hit it.

I took the inland route to the tiny town of Occidental, just a little over 50 miles from home.

This is dairy country.

http://obrentharris.smugmug.com/phot...cXMP67k-X2.jpg

But the wine grapes are slowly moving in.

http://obrentharris.smugmug.com/phot...6ZnKgZW-X2.jpg

The tunas (prickly pears) are all ripening.

http://obrentharris.smugmug.com/phot...N9sVGqL-X2.jpg

I returned home by way of the coast, skirting the east shoreline of Tomales Bay.

http://obrentharris.smugmug.com/phot...wxBXMWs-X2.jpg

The bike comported itself fabulously. I can see a lot more long rides in its future.

Dug out my winter gear for a morning ride in cold and windy conditions. 39 miles today on my Trek 630 and it was about 36 degrees when I was done. After November 1, the goal is always more miles than degrees in any given weekend ride.

Riding along the St Croix river
http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...6&d=1414877537

A few short steep hills on the ride

Not much left to block the wind out here
http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...9&d=1414877543

Along a small lake and up a twisty path I happily discovered this morning

Nice pics. It was cold this morning. In the 20s when we left and like you say, 30s later on. We did the long route in the river bottoms. 32 miles this morning.

I got a call mid-afternoon from some friends and did another 27 miles around Mpls. Man, it was windy!

Beautiful autumn. Favorite time with crisp cool air and a pre-noon Sun. To change things up, road some cobblestone through the historic neighborhood's... on tires inflated to 145psi..
