I rode 31 miles today in Scituate RI. It was about 30 degrees with flurries and sleet.

First of all VR, that is fantastic.
Couple of things I noticed. That headtube is super long. That may make a Pegoretti a good candidate for me someday. Also, that is a super stealth ride and I love the black bits all the way down to those excellent White Industries' hubs. Great coordination! First impressions? |

Just finished 31 very windy miles as I prepare to watch some NFL the rest of the day. Longest ride since my foot surgery at the end of October and man do I feel slow. Some sunshine finally for the first time in what seems forever and that made it even more enjoyable.

With the days at their shortest, my 4pm ride meets the gathering dusk.
Just my regular loop, keeping close to the neighbourhood...but I live in a beautiful city. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=424159 No C&V wheels today, but I like to think the Holland has a certain 'classic' sensibility. Dusk catches up to this north-east facing view of Vancouver Harbour as the sun disappears to the west: http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=424160 |
Very nice Mike. I love the first pic, beautiful shot.

That spot is only a couple of kilometres from my home. It really is beautiful, and just one of many such snapshots this place could provide. I might have to start carrying the point-and-shoot in the jersey pocket more often. Love that Pegoretti, BTW. Really slick bike. |
Sweet Dawes!

Upper 50's today. Most of the ride in short sleeves.

^^^ OK, wow. That is just a very nicely composed picture, @djkashuba.

This thread for me captures the ultimate bike experience - the sheer pleasure of going somewhere, seeing interesting sights, exploring the unknown.
Keep the great pics coming! |
I got to ride with Santa on Saturday, about 40 miles. Kris Kringle got dropped a few times, so I'll be looking for a few lumps of coal..

I got out for the first time in a long time today due to a bum knee - it feels great to get back to it. The weather is grey and drizzly here, but with temps flirting with 50F I certainly can't complain. No mid-ride shots, as today was just a slow-ish cruise around town to make sure the body is healed and happy. It is.

Tour de Claude
Every year on Christmas Eve Mrs. Trotsky's family does a white elephant gift exchange. The whammy gift is this creepy chef statue named Claude. If you get stuck with him, you have to proudly display him in your home for the following year, and provide photographic evidence. We were the lucky winners last Christmas, but naturally we put off the photo session until the last possible minute.
The weather was nice, so I decided to take Claude on a tour of some of the city's cake statues commemorating St. Louis's 250th birthday. Claude is very well travelled. A great excuse for a ride. Well done.

What could be better than Claude the chef on a cake?

Awesome pics as usual!

Relative decent weather on Xmas day here in Minnesota so I went out for a ride with my wife.

Good to see it's not too cold for a ride in Minnesota on Christmas Day! It's very mild here in NJ, although extremely windy, a nice and comfortable 52 degrees today, I even wore shorts.

Christmas day ride today - the logging trucks have been removing burned timber so I knew the road in the hills behind us were being kept plowed so I headed up there. Didn't go far enough to get in the snow but did have some fun on the mud as the top layer of frozen soil on the road was starting to melt in the sunshine. Those trucks have done a great job in tearing up the road again.

Really not worthy of photos - and I forgot the camera. Just a quick 12 miler on Christmas morning around the local park and a few side roads. Like Von Ruden said, very mild and windy - so windy that I was nearly coasting up a small incline on a city street for about 1/4 mile. Did it all in heavy cloud cover after a big rain yesterday. As soon as I put the bike away the sun broke through and we have had a beautiful Christmas day.
The afternoon was spent assembling a workbench my wife gifted me. Merry Christmas! |
@scozim it's great to see you out n about and on the mend. Like you, I got in a Christmas day ride today as well.
