Well here is a photo from the other side of the world (hope I've loaded it correctly) the location is the famous Macarthur landing site WW2 just south of Tacloban, leyte island, Philippines, we visit there often & I keep my old 2002 Trek 800 trial bike there, its a very strong bike just right for those roads, it needs to be stripped & rebuilt again, I've just fitted some new Maxxis Pace tires.

A few days late in posting as I did not have my laptop with me.

Wow, v c, those pics are spectacular! That sure doesn't look like the Netherlands. :D

We rode the tandem for only 63.4 miles today, making three rides in a row of metric centuries. My sweetie always snaps pics with her cell phone.

I committed to taking some roads I never take on my usual route. Found this old barn with the Mail Pouch advertising just 5 miles from my house. It was obviously staged though.

Nice pics as usual. KOBE, where is that?

It was a good day for riding, though warm. We took the tandem out for only 42.7 miles today. It stopped our streak of metric centuries at only 3 But on the way out we stopped at the CuriousVelo bike swap and I picked up a few goodies:

http://world.std.com/~muller/pics/goodies.jpg

Zefal pump and a French headset.

We saw some idiocy today. We saw a guy in a BMW blow through the intersection of Barrett's Mill Rd and Lowell Rd in Concord at about 40mph, apparently not noticing that it was a 4-way stop and he had both a stop sign and a red blinking light. Later as we were zipping along about 20mph east bound on rt225 with cars approaching from behind a cyclist came zipping out of a side street and cut me off. I saw him coming and braked enough to fall in behind him. Then he braked in front of me. I called out "Go! Go! Go!" and then "Passing on your left" and went around. He said something like "Sorry to get you all in a tizzy" at which point I informed him that a tandem couldn't slow quite so easily. Only then did he realize what he'd done and apologized. Yeesh.

Still, it was a nice day!

Following up on Fridays not so great ride, I got a wonderful ride in on Saturday. I took my Ti MegaTube out for a spin. What a difference a 73 parallel frame is from a 77.5 head and 78.25 seat angles. The Ergo shifters were a big swith up since I have been mostly riding friction DT shifters.

I pretty much did my usual route but went out a bit further to get a bit over 26 miles!!

Every now and then I get to see this beautiful old Galaxy.

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...7c&oe=560E3320

I don't come this way often but I never noticed this place before

https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...d0&oe=56542FEB

I wasn't feeling it this morning but made myself go ride since it is supposed to rain the next few days. Even heading out the door I felt like I just had no gas in me. I managed to do an OK 19 miles.

The high point of todays ride, sorry no pics, was when a trio of Commando Solos went streaking by!! OK OK maybe a EC-13 does 'streak' anywhere but these guys were very low maybe under 1000AGL and about 1/4 mile spacing. I though it was pretty cool.

Back up the mountain today in 37C weather. It was HOT and humid so of course I decided to attempt a serious climb (category 4 on strava, but hey I'm a newb). I was trying to follow the path for the Grand Prix Cyclist race http://gpcqm.ca/uploads/pdf/parcours...ARCOURS_EN.pdf. I was dying on the initial climb and had to stop for a half hour to rest as I felt my blood sugar drop and was shaky. I almost turned back but kept on only to discover that I was only about a hundred metres from the top when I stopped! After that it was smooth sailing - those descents are such a payoff. The GP race does 17 laps. It was my initial intention to do an "easy" two. After that climb though I opted for just the one for today. :D

View from the top where I took my rest. My building is in there somewhere to the right. You can also see Olympic Stadium.

The Tam-tams - at the bottom of the mountain people gather every Sunday for sun, drums, beers, and of course weed. Gotta love Montreal.

My reward.

and @Vonruden, your right quick release is open. :)

Wow again. VR, you must pic your bike to match the color of the scenery you're going to ride through. :thumb:

djk, that really looks like fun. Question, where'd all the camping gear come from? You weren't carrying it in the riding pics!

I just rode my commute again today, but the Gazelle made it an exciting ride.
