Agreed Jim, great photos of the dusk colors @Vonruden. @Drillium Dude I cannot keep up with all the great photos of your part of WA. One day I will make it out there to the opposite side of the continent.

Did a 30 mile shake down ride after changing out some drive train parts and installing a diffrent set of bars

Put a set of Compass Rando bars on. Trying to get them dialed in. So far.......meh.....

First time I have ever seen storm sewers that were not cast iron pipe. This is repalcing old ones that were leaking into the creek.

Lug windows I did not ever notice were filled. I have had this frame for 5+ years!

Very modest color scheme but gorgeous bike. :thumb:

We did 48.7 miles on the tandem today. Didn't quite make 50. Lots of bikes out today. Some sort of ride going on, a fund raiser for brain tumor research or something. It was an awesome day.

Even better, David Ortiz hit a triple in the 9th and then a double in the bottom of the 10th. Sox win! First walk-off win this year.

The bike is not completely on-topic (Cannondale Silk Road 1000) but this is where I hang out. Did 12-ish recreation trail miles. The HeadShok was nice on the rougher sections more suitable for hybrids. This bike is new to me this spring... I put it together from a frame and a donor 105 Triple group.

Love that Rivendell Brian!

Single speed Saturday for me, heading out now for a few more miles on something a little more vintage.

More great pics. Nice trail pic, vf. VR, you're slipping. A pink bike but no pink in the sky? :D

I did 38.3 miles on the Masi today. You see the strangest things in Lexington.

Of course a comparison is in order.

I'll take the Masi :)

I sold four awesome bikes to fund this one a couple months ago. I finally had a nice long ride today to validate the suspicions of my decision.

:) I wish she did Brian, a little on the heavier side, however makes up in comfort. More to come.

A splendid looking Singer

My week of riding was more about getting an emotional reset after a family member passed away. Did a nice long ride on the Condor Wednesday in the Kettle Moraine, passing the usual rural Wisconsin sights, including farms and churches.

My favorite road of all time was repaved, very nice. This spot is where I low slided then slid a motorcycle up the little hill to the left (at a younger and foolisher point in my life), and managed to miss all the trees and came to a stop right on top of the hill. Was coming the other way into this corner going way too fast on an RD400 with hard tires. Very very lucky.
http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...9&d=1463350765

Finally, my turn around point was the Parnell tower (just visible above the trees toward the right-center of the tree-line)

Today was around 48 miles on rail trails with the Mercian

Alex Singer baby. That's too much!

No riding for me this weekend. On our way home from a regional soccer tourney in Kansas City.

Just passed Ankeny, IA. :)

CannedPakes 05-15-16 04:53 PM

Took my new to me '81 Fuji S12-S LTD for it's first major ride today. The trail I went to usually doesn't have more than one or two other people at it, so it's nice and peaceful. This is the first road bike I've owned that actually fits me, and I'm very happy with it (other than the red bar tape and extremely high brake levers). It handles gravel way better than I thought it would.

Same place I always ride, but on a new toy that has finally came off the repair stand! Miyata 610 touring setup on the shakedown, literally just in time to get boxed up and tossed on a plane!

I actually rode to work yesterday (on a Sunday! For shame!), but I took a bit different route. Just me and this goose checking out the Chicago skyline from the entrance to Montrose Harbor. Well, he was more interested in the buffet provided by the Chicago Parks Department.

We could probably feed all of Chicago's homeless with those geese. They get a nice diet of fresh, untainted grass. Always look fat to me.

We were in Philly this weekend visiting friends and I rode around Saturday and Sunday with my buddy and we met our ladies at different spots around the city. We also rode over to check out the waterfront area of Camden which was actually very nice. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522391http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522392http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522393http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522394Meanwhile my brother took his '81 Fuji Royale around the South Bronx and Randall's Island. The area is finally experiencing a true revitalization in many ways. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522396http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522397http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=522398

I rode Mckenzie pass yesterday. Each spring Oregon DOT plows a single lane over the road, speeding natures course in clearing away winter’s snowpack from the pass. For about a month, the road is closed to cars and it is a bikers heaven.

I travelled down there by myself and rode from Sisters in Eastern Oregon up n over the pass to the gated entrance in Western Oregon then returned via the same route.

This small group greeted me at the summit. They were pointing and waving as I approached

I understood why when I stopped. These two Portlanders recognized me from the last time they had been here - some two years ago, we had met and talked while ascending the switchbacks on the Western end of the Pass.

These two guys mentioned that they had just told their friends about meeting me when all of the sudden I come riding up. There were very excited about my bike and the chance encounter we had now years later. We took photos before we went our separate ways - they heading East and me going West.

I descended into the forest in Western Oregon then turned around at the gate and climbed back up to the pass.

I descended down off the pass into Eastern Oregon. The air getting warmer and pungent from the Lodgepole Pines as I got lower.

I ended my ride with a snack stop at the Sisters Coffee Shop. If you are ever nearby check this place out! It has some really good food and coffee
