Hill work today for about 30 miles. No pics, but no issues, either, during this first ride since being knocked off the bike last Thursday. Success!

A Very Special Ride yesterday. After putting in a bunch of solo miles on the Fairfax Cross County Trail, picked up my 7 year old grandson from camp and rode the last six miles with him.

Yesterday was a beautiful cool morning ride that I've done several times. I've named it "the day of the dead" as it includes riding thru one cemetery and near another. As I'm so familiar with it, I did not stop to take any pictures and did not plan to. However at the 30 mile point, on the way home, I stopped to change water and could not help but notice how the British chrome glistens in the morning sun. It just seemed like a nice photo of the glist and the verdant trail. 42 miles on the clock when done.

I had the opportunity to ride along the Yampa River in Steamboat Springs, CO recently on a borrowed Cannondale T2 bike.

It's a beautiful area with lots of bikes all over including the electric ones.

As to the previously mentioned dangerous encounters with dirt bag variety individuals, one day they may meet up with someone that says, I'm your huckleberry and you all know what they say about karma.

Had to take Thomas out back-to-school shopping for a backpack and a couple other items, so we rode bikes to get it done. About forty miles and some hills, and a lunch stop for burgers, fries, and shakes.

Hard to believe that school is right around the corner. I hope this backpack lasts longer than the Costco specials that he's burned through over the years...

Today just a grocery run and a quick photo op at Cathcart Elementary school. It's nice being able to fit a gallon of milk and some vegetables in the front bag without issue.

Really nice weather yesterday got enough time to ride rd18 to Thompson Park and ride the Ti Hack one of the nicest trails there is. With every thing wet this summer there was a lot of green and wild flowers even in the dead forest section of the trail which is usually dull grey and kinda creepy

Really nice weather lately that I havenít been able to take much advantage of, but was able to get out for 25 in the hills and dirt of southwest Albemarle County with a quick toe dip into Nelson County.

Pollak Vineyards entrance. In the distance, the little notch in the mountains with the cloud above is Rockfish Gap and the northern terminus of the Blue Ridge Parkway

I passed through your area a few days back on the way to Steamboat Springs, CO.

There was a nice bike path that appeared to go all the way between Fairplay and Alma,CO.

Is that one you frequently ride?

Both towns looked like great places to live or visit.

Yes I ride the Alma to Fairplay bike path a lot about ounce week. There are also a bunch of nicer short paths in around Alma.

Just catching up so sorry to hear about your recent scrapes Drillium Dude but glad you're relatively unscathed considering, and happy to see you back on the horse at it were, and the horse is OK:)

I was out on my rowdy Somec today....

....my bike receives an admiring glance from across the street. In America I think I could get fined for jaywalking for taking this pic. We have no such laws here, so I'm legal, but I'm like Bambi on ice getting back across the road in my clippy cloppy cycling shoes before the next batch of traffic comes streaming into view.

Nice, 100, I had a chance to drive one back in the 70s'. Got pulled over for having the wind screen down. Knobs on each side to raise it back up.

Spur of the moment camping trip earlier this week as the heat continues here in the PNW.

Bruce and I ride to West Seattle and after a short 15 minute crossing by ferry to Vashon Island, you’re a world away from the City.

We camped at a primitive hiker/biker/kayaker campsite nestled in a grove of Madrona trees on the beach.

There’s few people in the campground, a mile long hike down a steep service road to this spot deters many from camping here. It was great.

The next morning it was cloudy and humid, Bruce and I climbed out of the park and explored the Island.

The next morning we packed up and headed back to the ferry.

We parted ways at the ferry dock - Bruce to Seattle to ride home and I went to Southworth over on the Kitsap Peninsula for the ride to Bainbridge island for a 3rd night of camping.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...08cba6bd_b.jpgIsland Camping by Matthew Pendergast, on Flickr

Late afternoon and hot by the time I got to Faye Bainbridge Park and set up camp. I cooled off by going for a swim.

The hiker/biker/kayaker campground that evening..

Woke up early to a blood red sunrise.

Time to pack up and head home. 3 nights camping on the beach in such close proximity to Seattle is something I find pretty amazing.

That Porsche 924 is georgeous too. Fast becoming a rare car.

So alas I must post fervently for forthwith as one does in these circumstances
