bah...i had to go and remove it from my fixie that i rode a couple times and am now gonna part out 
here's that Schwinn Super Sport i picked up last week
it's wearing the SR stem with japanese on it (from the centurion i just sold).. the SR stem somehow got smaller than the handlebars it was on and i had to hack off the bars and sand down the inner faces of the stem to make it fit any other bars..

I picked up this Miele Doral from the thrift store today. It wasn't cheap because the thrift stores have gotten smart around here and priced bikes higher, but its well worth it. This is the way I got it except I took the toe straps off. I spent a couple hours cleaning it up this afternoon and its going to be a nice bike. It brakes and shifts well with no adjustments. I like the chrome fork alot. Its probably a good thing this bike doesn't fit and will find a new owner. I need to hit up Walgreens to find some pearl white nail polish.

some people just dont care or dont want to waste their time
selling on CL efficiently is a "skill".. if you don't know how to write a good ad, take a picture and have the patience to deal with (virtual) lookie-loos then in the trash it goes
where i live you can just put anything of value on the sidewalk and someone will take it lol

I just got a box with 2 Sun CR18 rims the other day from Niagara. Cost me $70 plus shipping. And those guys just thew away 10 of basically the same thing (probably more valuable being Mavic rather than Sun.) Some people just don't understand what they have when they throw stuff away.

I won this a couple of days ago at a damaged car auction of all places for $2 scrap metal merchants normally get these so I think I'll show up more often in the future.
This ones a Aussie built Repco Superlight with a crome moly frame and SLR 105.
Just needs a frame repaint cables and bar tape everything else will clean up.

Made a trip to the dump today..
Got these three bikes, as well as some parts. So, whats the deal, if your old bike has flat tires and tons of dust, it's time to throw it away?
The Puch is 531 tubing, and looks like a pretty nice bike. The Nishiki is nothing special, but will clean up real nice. The Peugeot is one ugly beast...

Two good Dump days in a row...
Yesterday, I collected a very nice Raleigh Technium mountain bike. Today, a nice Peugeot and a Trek, both mountain bikes, made their way from the Dump to The Old Shed. I kinda like the Peugeot and just might build it up. The rest will probably go to Bicycles for Humanity...

what's up man? am new at this forum. got my eyes on the Jango 7.1 hybrid eq by Topeak and am having trouble finding out how to aquire the bike. website gives no info. neither does the topeak site. could you possibly help me?

I saw two bikes this afternoon, that had been put out on the trash. I was driving at the time (
). Turned around and got out of the car and realized they were cheap MTB's with a retrofit gas engine driving the rear tire! Oh, man, I thought. This is definitely somebody else's problem. I left them there.

Picked up two bikes at garage sales today. One was a Giant RS-940, probably late 1980s. The other was a bike in a box, disassembled, and showing signs of serious distress.
The Giant had been converted to grip shifters, ugh. I'll post more pics of the bike in the box, as I am rebuilding it now, and it is coming out pretty good.
Got to love the UPS shipping barcode on the box........ Why am I not surprised? I pulled the handlebars out of the box, as they were jammed up against the top tube, with no padding. Wanted to prevent any additional damage on the ride home.

Nothing big today bike wise. I did pick up a decent Huffy cantilever cruiser with a box of various bike parts for $10. It will make a nice rat rod project bike.
It is always good to have other non-bike items on your list when you head out. Last week I paid $30 for a tub of 300 CDs from a lady moving back to Sweden.
I have already sold 140 of them for $350. I should eventually get about $750 for my $30 investment. That is much better than the CDs I have at the bank.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
We have a policy at our co-op that, when trikes get donated we give them to people who need them and cannot afford them as a new trike is an expensive beast.
This one has a rear drum brake and a wide range 6 speed drive and my housemate, who has a severe disability that limits his walking and ability to balance on a 2 wheeled bike looked like a 10 year old kid when he took his new bike for a ride. He is already planning to go out tomorrow morning for coffee (with me) and when he saw the basket the first thing he said was that he could take the dog for rides and she already went for a quick spin and seemed very approving of the new "dog bike".
He also said that shopping will be awesome now that he can carry more stuff home in the basket as he should not be carrying things too far (he does not drive).
He will share it with our neighbour and his friend and she too would like to get riding and for her it is probably a matter of life and death and she is morbidly obese and has limited ability to walk.
Will replace the POS shifter with an orphaned Suntour half ratchet thumbie tonight and put some Kool Stop salmon pads up front and think I have some spare lights and a nicer saddle as the one on the bike has bent rails.
This is one of the best catches ever... it is nearly mint and even came with it's orginal owner's manual and I rode it home 8km and found it to be a very pleasing ride although my back hates me now.
