picked up a Miele today in Columbus (Cromor?) tubing (it does have a front wheel). Not sure what I'll do with it, but it should clean up pretty nicely. Full 105 7 speed group and the frame looks like it's excellent condition.

Lightning seems to have struck twice. I picked up a Peugeot Dordogne from the dump a few weeks ago and I went there today to give the men who work there some chocolates and biscuits for their help throughout the year. There in the skip was this Peugeot Iseran from the mid 80s.

Not in the same class as the Dordogne as it is a Carbolite 103 frame, but not bad for free. Much too big so another winter project for sale in the spring.

Not C&V but steel frame with a level top tube, and it even has a really nice lugged fork. It's a Bikesdirect bike and i'm actually pretty impressed with the frame (despite the *ugly* decals). A lot of the components seem pretty low end though.. got it for a steep discount off the BD price and it's almost brand new

The BD frames are a great value!!!! I really like my Kilo TT. Hard to believe they can deliver that much bike for the price.

Tad big for me, but my son will probably grow into it! 400 Elance, traded a Schwinn Suburban and a bit of cash for it at the local Thrift/Bike boneyard. Couldn't stand to see it there in the rain growing rusticles. Shimano "Light Action" FD RD, have not delt with those before....Maillard 600 hubs....hmmmm we shall see....

The shimano "light action" stuff works well. Not flashy, but certainly functional.

interesting... the seat tube is the hinge.. doesn't seem like it would fold down a lot though

Nice thing about those full size folders, you can take them on the BART trains during peak commute hours when non-folding bikes are prohibited.
I commuted by BART on a Fuji folder for quite a while when I lived in the bay area.

It has pivots on the top tube and in front of the bottom bracket, and the seat post locks it together.

Yeah I'm really impressed with the frame material... it seems they cut costs on construction a tiny bit though (I see a few minor flaws and some of the welds are kinda messy). On the Fantom Cross Uno it seems they spec'd all low end component to meet their price point as well. I'm also not sure how much the PO messed with the bike after it was assembled but the brake levers are crooked and the brakes are poorly adjusted. Some of these issues are the same ones that xmart bikes have (low end components and poor assembly) but at the price I paid I'm not complaining. Even at $400 it's a good value, if you want a new bike.

I know it's a single speed vs fully geared bike, but just by picking them up I can't tell if my Ironman or the Fantom Uno is lighter..

I had one of those marked for Marlboro .
I think the downtube stickers were Fuji,
but the headbadge was Marlboro.
Marlboro Adventure Team- What a marketing concept .

Yes. I believe the folding idea was so that it would fit in the coffin.

I picked up a Fuji Marlboro folding bike this summer that was abandoned, still need to rehab it & I think I will upgrade it a little jut to lighten it up a bit, the thing is heavy for what it is.

travellling for the holidays to see family and, on the local CL, found some NOS, in the box Suntour Cyclone brakes; calipers, levers, hoods, cables for $65. Almost completes my groupo, don't see brakes very often. Not a steal, but have been hard to locate.

Fine snag there, rj, the seatpost alone is worth 3 euro at least!

FWIW, I have one of those Fantomcross Unos...I dig the fork (hell, maybe the fork is retro enough to make it all worth posting!). I've had some fun with it in the snow as a fixed gear CX & otherwise it makes a rugged commuter/trail runner with lots of places to attach stuff.
