travellling for the holidays to see family and, on the local CL, found some NOS, in the box Suntour Cyclone brakes; calipers, levers, hoods, cables for $65. Almost completes my groupo, don't see brakes very often. Not a steal, but have been hard to locate.

Not C&V but steel frame with a level top tube, and it even has a really nice lugged fork. It's a Bikesdirect bike and i'm actually pretty impressed with the frame (despite the *ugly* decals). A lot of the components seem pretty low end though.. got it for a steep discount off the BD price and it's almost brand new

FWIW, I have one of those Fantomcross Unos...I dig the fork (hell, maybe the fork is retro enough to make it all worth posting!). I've had some fun with it in the snow as a fixed gear CX & otherwise it makes a rugged commuter/trail runner with lots of places to attach stuff.

Not a steal perhaps but a great find at a great price. Merry Christmas as they say in the auction biz. And Happy New Year!!

^That one would have been worth the drive to Austin from here in San Antonio. Saw it a few hours after posting but I'm good where I'm at with bikes. (then why was I on CL?) Its still fun to look :)

Glad you got it!

Nice day at the gear swap as I met an ex Sachs rep who was selling off a ton of great nos stuff, could not buy it all but could not resist the campagnolo made new success crankset and bottom bracket and will get back to him on nos freewheels and internal gearhubs.

Also found a Sugino Mighty Competiton in great shape, mks touring pedals, and a short cage Shimano DX rear d and the matching front d.

I've been preoccupied- just picked up a vintage '84 Panasonic on CL.

For a mere $25. :D

As a whole the bike is a POS (not unlike a 'bum-bike,' really), but the frame is in excellent shape and will look beautiful after cleaning & powder coating.

^Very nicely done! Deserving of one's new wallpaper.

Not exactly from the dump, but it is definitely my Catch of the Day:

Never used Shimano BB-6400 in its box with French and English cups. The plastic bags inside are unopened.
It was under 20 USD with today's rate. Not bad, not bad... :p

A friend gave me this to take to the swap meet in Feb., but I'm on the fence about keeping it. First Masi I have had. Not sure of the year yet. Serial number is F02121107. It has Campy Chorus hubs and brake calipers.
