I picked up this '90 Marin Eldridge Grade a couple days ago. I gave it a complete overhaul. It was missing tires, a front wheel and had mismatched cranks. I replaced those parts with parts bin parts. I have a total of $25 invested in it.

80's Schwinn Centurion????

I found this in my local classifieds

It's a very nice looking bike, but I'm a little confused would this be considered a hybrid or was it easier to find the schwinn decals

@Gashepherd Is it a heavily photoshopped image of what looks to be a pretty decent Centurion? My guess is in the real world the real decals are still on the stolen bike. Which sounds ridiculous actually, but there it is.
It's also a 70s bike, not 80s.

@curbtender That Peugeot is pretty sweet! Nice find there.

80's Schwinn Centurion????

I'm sure that they are real pictures, he says it's got new paint and decals, the whole ad he's convinced it's a schwinn.
I think that it's a really confused centurion

It looks to be, perhaps, a Super Lemans. Notice, though, that the rear triangle is chromed but the fork doesn't appear to be.

This one should have had decals that read 'pass,' because it has it written all over it.

Yeah, the second pic confirms that. I'm endlessly amazed by the way people can misidentify a bike when the correct answer is literally riveted to it.

I just saw an ad for a Windsor that said "Made in Italy". The seller literally posted a pic of the sticker that said "Made in Mexico". wtf

Not mine, but one that my neighbor brought home. He's an old retired guy, even older and retireder than I am, and he loves his auctions and estate sales. I was heading out to the library this afternoon and spotted a flash of orange and foil sticker in his truck bed and just knew I had to stop. A nifty little Gitane folder, probably from the '70s, and everything seems to be intact; lenses for the front and rear lights, pump, white pedals. It's all there. Note the 3-speed cluster and the groovy Huret Svelto derailleur. Haven't seen one of those in decades. Milton is a fixer-upper and a yard saler, so this bike will be cleaned up and sold. I can provide his contact info if anyone is interested. I told him not to do anything except wash and lube.

Picked this up for 20, looked all original except the saddle. Since I had a 600 group, some 105 dual pivot brakes, and some campy rims on superbe pro hubs, it got an upgrade.

Caught a Black Lightning today. 1989 60cm with the Suntour Edge group. Crank has been changed because someone had stripped the pedals. Decent condition and the price was a steal.

I did manage to find an Austro Daimler that looks kind of cute, all 531. The frame and the wheels were a separate purchase.

Early A-D Inter-10! Not just full 531, but silver-brazed full 531! Score! Those were intelligently spec'ed with very good and serviceable but not-so-snooty parts, and were roughly comparable to the Royal X of the same era. I have been rediscovering just how well the Puch/Austro-Daimlers built in Graz truly ride. Mine (same frame but with different paint and graphics) is currently running Normandy Luxe Competition/Mavic Module E/Panaracer Pasela 27 x 1 1/4 @ 70 psi and is buttery smooth but still speedy, as in glides past newer bikes on long descents.

Go here and scroll down for the 1976 A-D catalog - this bike is about mid-way along the line. Somewhere along the line, this model switched from SR to the pictured Nervar 50.4 mm bcd cranks - most of those (I think) had brazed-on top tube brake cable tunnels, though. Again, LOVELY score!

OK, based on my research so far, this is a Crescent 320. RD has a 1970 patent date. Some of the original Campy stuff is gone, but the seat post, crankset, pedals, RD, FD, shifters, and headset are all Campy. Wheels and brakes are not. Chain rings are Sugino Mighty Competition, 46/42, a change for sure.

BB is either French or Swiss, marked 35 x 1. I won't know for sure until I get home and can put a wrench on it.

Eighth and FINAL pickup this trip. I already had to donate one complete and donate three others after some parts harvesting, and I even sold a fifth pickup from the campground. Kept room for the Merckx and Litespeed.

Nice. Are the rear DOs Campy or Suntour? 320s had Campy. 319s had Suntour GS, which I prefer. On the decaling: yours has no Reynolds ST decal and your TT decals are back near the seat while my 1974 319 has those forward on the TT with an additional checkerboard panel. I REALLY enjoy mine.

Two other bits: I think you rare correct about it being '71 or '72. My 74 has a 'divers helmet' braze on for the RD housing where yours is a clamp on. And your headbadge has black infill behind it where mine does not. I recall that change was around 73 or so.

Rear drop out painted over, so I don't see any marking. Front is Campy, I can read it.

Big Miyata 710

Lady was tossing this and some box store bikes away if I didn’t take them...sold the two roadmasters for $50.00 and brought this home.
Kinda big, c-c is 62cm!
I dropped the seat about 4” and took it for a spin.
Gonna be fun!

I may have put this on already awhile ago...

Mismatched wheels.
Great paint.
Needs to be taken apart and put back together.
