I think this was a pretty good grab today. Not much luck with bikes in the thrift stores recently, but this was at a Goodwill for $30. 1993 Miyata Triple Cross. I found out why they probably donated it. The rear shifter was just freewheeling, but a little shot of WD40 on the paws and it works like new. should clean up nicely.

Bikes are okay, I guess.

Miyata touring mixte
Found a Miyata 215 st mixte tourer at the local Goodwill today, first vintage find in months. I’ve never found a mixte tourer before, has spline triple butted frame with mangalloy fork, 3x6 Shimano light action indexed DT shifters, Dia Compe canti brakes, o.e. rear rack. Looks like it will clean up nicely.

picked this up, which is the o.e. spec saddle for my current project, for $5 at the bike thrift store. it's in better condition than the one i already had, so it's a nice, inexpensive quality upgrade!

Those are actually really nice saddles and comfortable too. Great score. Real leather too!

A friend we helped get out of homelessness last year has furnished his apartment with stuff salvaged from dumpsters. He scored this c.2012 Trek Skye last week and passed it on to me last night. I think it needs a rear quick release skewer (I probably have one that will fit), a woman’s saddle (I know I have one of those on the shelf!) and general lubrication and adjustments to be a running bike again.

1980 German folder "Exclusiv"

Put air in the tires and rode it around. Missing front brake, rear fender and could use some tlc/grease.

Local online classified listing service (not Craigslist) delivered these last week:
2002 Trek Fuel 100

And a 2009 Trek 820 WSD:

The 820 is like new; just needs some air in the tires and a good polish/tune. The Fuel needs a little more. Bought with the intention of reselling both in the spring but I may want to ride the Fuel a bit before I decide. Paid $50 each. I think I did ok

Some unusual and very nice finds while out and about today for lunch. Unexpected to say the least - As I commented to a friend, 'Best lunch break ever'.

My brain hurts!
All of it at one of the the co-ops here. I was working Saturday and took time off for lunch, I've been needing some Weinmann 750's to finish a project and was debating whether or not to pay a visit to dig through the parts bins as well as renew my membership. I finally got off my rear and went and glad I did - a matter of perfect timing, usually there's not much there and I happened to show up at just the right time. I made a sizable donation in addition to my membership fee for this, it was only fair. And I already have an installation candidate for the deltas.

Neighbor was literally throwing these in a dumpster.

Significant corrosion under the paint in a couple areas on this one.

On my morning walk last trash day I saved this Iron Horse. Looks like I have a winter project.
