Saw this at the co-op today but did not buy it. Mighty quaint old Austrian-made Steyr Clubman bike that looks like it was upgraded in the '70s with an SR Swan stem and Shimano sidepulls. Nothing fancy, but never seen one like it. Dig those craaaazy wingnuts!

Picked up a blue annodized Raleigh Technium without seatpost or seat for $60. Mid-grade Shimano components, 21-speed road bike, in my size. It'll go into the queue, behind the Peugeot and Gitane.

What kind of paint do you guys typically go with for repainting old steel frames? I'm looking to repaint a old unknown road frame I just found. Thanks!

Picked up this Jamis Coda Comp for free. My intentions upon first glance was parts bike and toss the frame and fork (didn't know it was even cf). As I was taking it apart, the only real damage was to the front wheel and the stem turned a bit. Everything is straight, even the carbon fork. This has now turned into a future project. lol

Yep, just like that. Mine has mismatched wheels - Exage FH-HG50 hubs with 7 speed casette laced to Mavic Open 4CD non-machined rim.

Yep - Twins. I've been trying to find more info on the CT-19's because they seem really nice.
I really like the Supercourse and the idea behind it. The brushed aluminum look is pretty cool. It's all subjective, but I think its a sharp looking ride. You stole that thing. I think it will clean up great. What are your thoughts ?

I'm intrigued, but this is rougher than I thought it was last night when I bought it. I knew it was pretty rough, but I didn't expect the aluminum corrosion at the water bottle bosses. I'm a bit concerned about this, and may need to find someone to weld up the "pin" hole. I'm also going to have to take off all of the black paint to address corrosion around the lugs, and do a complete, if low-budget, re-build on this.

Google photos has been problematic, my images disappear but are still linked? Right click and open in new tab to see the corrosion I'm talking about if it doesn't stay embedded.

Forgot how much pictures can be deceiving. First pics looked pretty darn clean. That's weird to see a corrosion hole in the aluminum. I hope you can get that boss out --- could be like an advanced stuck seatpost situation ? I hope your intrigue keeps you interested. Clean up the brushed blue aluminum and take it out in the sun - that may give you more inspiration - it's crazy cool IMO. Please keep us updated.

Yeah first pics were the seller's... If you can't tell already, there's a plastic coating over the annodized aluminum, to protect it. I'm definitely interested enough to get into it and see how bad the problems are. If nothing else I can salvage the Exage components and transfer to another mid-range frame... tbd.

I've got a duplicate of that bike- it's lighter than you would expect- the head tube, lugs and seat lugs are AL too. Chromo fork. I converted mine to brifters (easier than I thought it would be). The quick handling is a bit too much past 28mph though.

Nice. There's a hills - centric ride that I'm hoping to do more often this fall, hopefully I'll have this bike ready by the time that starts up in earnest. I have a white Fizik saddle that should do nicely. I may even try to save the bar tape, and just clean and re-wrap.

I know these don't get much love here but I snagged this off Ebay. 1987 Raleigh Technium 480 frame set. Right size, good condition and liked the colors, paid too much again but frames I like in my size don't come along very often where I live.

Literally pulled this one out of the dumpster. My brother @tuna and I were heading out for a day trip, I spotted this sticking out of a dumpster in front of a laundromat, well we turned around and pulled it from the dumpster, its a
1988 (11/1987 SN) L.L. Bean MTB that was made by Cannondale.
20" frame, Anthracite (matching my 1992 T1000) paint. built with some low end components.

Deciding whether i'm gonna keep it or not

Nice! That has to be one of my all time favorite color schemes. That, and the Motobecane black / red Grand Records just ooze class.

Definitely, it just came yesterday and the colors are much better in person. The paint and decals are in fantastic condition. I'm thinking the 105 group for my Diamondback Centurion may end up on this instead. Pretty sure this is destined for it......

Given to me from the dad (and our neighbor) of my daughter's bff. Future project. Bonus Chris King headset. Will probably re-install the stock fork as I like this color. Another addition to my herd of Specialized bikes. lol

Today's freebie and most likely my go-to roadie in the future:
53cm 1990's DB Centurion Master TG made n Japan. 105 groupset intact except for the missing wheels. Some rust here and there but I'll take care of that. Frame looks straight. Cool splatter paint job. Can't wait to work on this one day.
