The Schwinn looks close enough to my size.
I've seen a bunch of those Zebrakenko bikes at rummage sales in the last few years, usually the sellers want way too much, beyond my buy it now price anyway. I used to call them "Ze-Brake-n-ko" until one of the shop guys were I seasonally help out at called them "Zebra-Kenko".

What size do you usually ride, I'll check and keep my eyes open for trade stock. That C'dale might fit one of the indirect grandkids if I can get them off stunt bikes that they don't stunt on and onto a road bike this coming summer.

I already posted about my latest find, the Lotus, in the test your C&V perception thread.

I've had a couple people interested in the C'Dale, but I will PM you none of those go through. I usually ride stuff with a 30" stand over, give or take .5", and a 50-53CM toptube is comfortable. The Schwinn is a good fit for me, last night it got fenders and a rack, some old Shimano Aero levers and a right side cross lever(can't find the left one!) I ordered a ton of bar tape from chucksbikes.com on their clearance so as soon as that gets here I'm going to retape the bars and when this cold spell snaps its getting commuter duty until spring. I don't know what I'm going to do with the Zebra Kenko, I'd keep if for a 3 speed project if it was smaller, probably strip it amd sell as fixie bait since it has almost no brazeons, or just convert it meself. It has a couple weird dings in the headtube, but nothing structural or out of round. It looks like someone may have slipped eith a tool trying to pry the headbadge off or something.

The Schwinn should make a nice commuter for you, does it have room to run studded tires? Probably not, I don't think my LeTour has enough room.

Sending you a PM about the Zebrakenko.

PM replied! no room for studs, I might be able to fit 32s with some better fenders,it has 28s right now and the cheap planet bike fenders don't fit right and sit really low under the brake bridge, but they don't rub so it works for now. I think I'm going to use my old rock hopper as a dedicated snow/ice bike since usually when its that icy its so cold everything is frozen and theres not much slop so I can get away with running it fixed gear with some big knobbies with studs without needing fenders, though usually if its THAT bad, I just stay in!

Cleaned up, don't bikes like that Fuji you just found bring in $100 to $150 in the Bay area? "One (not too bright) man's trash, another man's treasure". You can probably get a rattle can color to match it pretty close.

I broke the promise I made to the wife of not buying anymore bikes, but it was just too good of a deal. It has a full 1st Generation Dura ace group, 3tt stem, bars, saddle and it's made of Ishiwata 022 tubing with campy drop outs. The paint is in very good condition and the chrome is very good also. Best of all it was 39 Euro. It's a Belgian brand. I've yet to see another one like it.

Mine looks exactly like that, and says Dura Ace. My brain must not be working full speed today, I forgot about Crane. Must be the first line with Dura Ace on it, as it looks like a match for my Crane rear. Too bad I can't use it on the SS. There's no seat tube cable stop on it, only a stop on the DT. I guess I could clamp a stop on the seat tube, but it would look too busy for my taste.,,,,BD

The paint isn't that bad. I have a few people asking me for bikes. If I can get one of them interested I'll put more time into it. Otherwise, I'll make it ridable and sell it cheap. I've had a chance to clear out a few hoopties by donating to a court program and it's helping people without transport/license get around and get back in shape.

Found by dumpster a huffy 512 st. I know nothing about this bike but the frame looks straight and I'm sure I can do something interesting with it.

Motobecane Nomad, a giant one 25" from bottom bracket to seat post.
All very original and really very clean, Since it's big I'll see if I can CL it, otherwise it may be my spring bike. All it really needs is a clean and lube (clean and 1/2 of lube done) bar tape and I'll prob do cables and guides since they are just old..

Nice find, and my size. Big bikes are harder to find.

I found NOTHING at the flea market worth taking a second look. I was on my way home and look over as I'm about to make a left towards my home. Someone is setting up a bunch of furniture and other things in the corner of a parking lot. I stop in the left turn lane to wait for the light, and take a closer look. I see bright orange, and a riser bar with a stiffening bar. WTH I think, let me go check that out!! I pull up and exit the RX7, and the guy says $30. I have $27 in my pocket, and they won't budge. I say don't sell it, I will be back in 5 minutes. It's a 3-4 year old Kona Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua'A. Which translates into...Double butted CrMo single speed MTB with Threadless headset, looptail frame, Sovos sealed cartridge large flange hubs, Avid V brakes, etc etc.... The Deluxe with disk brakes was about $800-$900, so this was a STEAL for $30. I know not vintage, but I will soon have a set of street slicks and a set of Rhyno Lite black rims on it, not to mention a worthy saddle. It will be a fun bike to beat around on! Maybe I will get into riding light trails too? You never now? I'm a lot lighter than I used to be.,,,,BD

Hmmm, I have a 7 speed Nexus hanging around in a box somewhere?

I think that qualifies for Steal of the Week and one more reason for people to hate you.

Panasonic Sport 500

Fastest listing of all time for me. Sold it an hour ago to a nice young lady from Philly. I think she really liked it by the smile on her face.

When I got it, the front wheel was crushed. Looked like a car ran it over. I found a replacement from my parts bin and replaced it along with adding new cables, bartape, and chain. She's a nice rider. I think the red cable housings really make it pop!

hmm I just noticed my Tempo came with Phil hubs. The centers are rusty, I wonder how to clean that up? I thought these things were supposed to be stainless. Anyone know how to date this bike? SB622721 is the S/N on the BB.

Bikes: This week or last week?

Newbie here scores on a few this week!

Well I have been kinda lucky this week. I found an Old red early 60's Cruiser bike in the dumpster at the local bike shop, I stopped in and they said "we have no need for stuff like that" as the bike shop guy was polishing the down tube on a new SALSA. I said Thanks!

I have it on Craigslist right now with another red cruiser bike I had bought last week for $10. $35 ea or $60 for the pair or Trade for a rear 27" alloy wheel. If I dont sell them I think I will paint them up and see if I can get a bit more for them. No one like theses out here in MN and WI.

I ran an ad in the wanted section of CL and this is what I picked up this last week.

Old Sekine - still trying to figure out what model it is.
paid $35 Needs a bath and a resto. Thnking of making a fixie/single spd out of it.

and here is what I think is my best find in a few months.....

NIshiki International Ole` Group - paid $50 for it Needs some cleaning and some TLC. wish it did not have all the braze on crap or Id single speed it. Ill do OK on it I think.

Then Last week I got this Raliegh Technium and the continental in a batch of bikes - 6 total for $100 Most of the bikes were parts but I got alot of neat stuff, and I just sold all the crap I didnt want out of it for $30 so Im at $70 now

Looking for a 27" alloy rear rim for this beast if anyone out there has an extra they want to sell or trade for. let me know what you need.

I put a breeze crank/sprocket on it and am going with Moustash bars and am going to single speed it. I just need to clean up the rims and put it back together.

Thanks for letting me show off my aquisitions!

These types of bikes sell like hotcakes here in Toronto, that second one would fetch at least $200 due to it's unique look. Nice load of bikes...
