Viner Vintage road bike. 55cm frame. Campy, Stronglight. - $300 (santa rosa)

Reply to: sale-jgt2d-1177558115@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Date: 2009-05-18, 4:06PM PDT

55cm frame in solid shape. Some decals are worn. Paint has scratches and is worn through in spots.

It's missing: Right Campy brake lever, Rear Campy brake, Rear Campy derailleur. (deore mtb r. der. in photo is not included).

It has: no name seat and post. Campy Left brake lever, Campy front brake. Shimano shifters (SL-5434). Campy front derailleur. Stronglight 52/42 crank. Kyokuto Pro Ace pedals. Cinelli stem and bars, scratched. Front wheel: Campy hub, Super Champ Gentleman rim. Rear wheel: Campy hub, Mavic E2 rim. Specialized Turbo 28 x 700 tires (new but have some stains on sidewalls).
Everything has wear but works.

I recently acquired the Viner as a frame and components listed. I bought the wheels and was going to complete the bike but have started 2 other projects so am selling this one.
I think $300 is a decent price considering it's fairly rare, very cool frame, some good parts, and it's condition. The missing parts should be attainable (maybe you have them?) There is an outside chance I can get the rear Campy brake and will know by the weekend.

Needs shipped from Eureka, Ca area. $30 to SF area. I have shipped bikes and audio gear a lot and pack very well.

If you want to discuss the bike reply with phone # and I'll call you. I have more photos too.

Thanks, Don

Looks like a death fork on Craigslist...

BIKE AEROSPACE G.P. 10 SPEED - $60 (GREELEY)
Would it be out of line if I posted a warning to potential buyers about the fork? I don't want to ruin his sale, but I also don't want a new cyclist to lose their teeth...

I donno, I could go both ways on this. Some posted one a while back on Boston's Craig's List and pointed out
that it had the death fork. Someone still felt obligated to put in another posting with the warning. It is like he didn't
know how to read. Pretty low price for a Lambert/Viscount (saw some wishful thinking here at $1300 a while back) -
low price might attract someone who wouldn't know better. So maybe a good idea to post warning. On the otherhand
I know someone who has had a Lambert for 35 years and after I pointed out the problem he felt no urgent need to
change the fork.

Anyone recognize the model? I couldn't find a match in the online catalogs I know of.

Not sure which model this is but it says on the frame that it is made of titanium. 12 speed bike with quick release tires, Suntour XC sport 7000 mechancials, and rear hand brake. Shimano 600 pedals (missing straps). Seat is torn in the back. Comes with air pump (shown attached under cross bar), no kick stand. 27 x 1 1/4" tires and 22" (56 cm) frame with a 32" stand over height. Rides well.
