Nah, that one's been posted 3 or 4 times. I've always had a soft spot for viscount/lambert, always sort of wanted one. I'd probably buy the one I listed if I wasn't leaving town in a few days.

That Schwinn is what I traded for the Casati.

Dude had said he was going to build a bike to ride, and preached forever about how generous and honest he was....

What a load of ****.

The Schwinn is nice though. I believe its a mid 80's Tempo, Columbus Tenax tubes.

I dont know about this dude though, seems like a total tweaker / bike butcher. When he had the ads for the Casati up he made it sound like the frame was made of pure gold, I got there and saw right away the seat stay was bent and there were two minor dents in the frame...he has also jammed 27" wheels for display that were rubbing on the seat tube.

Gave me all the bull**** lines: " Wife is leaving me."... " Kid is late for karate..." ..." You can come back and check out what else I have."

I was generally creeped out, and had a feeling he would end up sellin what I traded him, ( which is fine if he had been honest. )

Beautiful old Motobecane frame - nervex lugs! - $200 (sunnyvale)

Reply to:sale-yen2s-1179746280@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Beautiful old Motobecane Grand Jubilee frame. Size is right for somebody about 6'. If you know about these things you will appreciate this frame and its nice lugs. If you don't know about nervex lugs you'll think it is too expensive when it is not. Perfect for a nice restoration or to ride as is. Paint has some nicks all over the place, so you'd need to repaint it to get it back to showroom quality.

Comes with a pair of golden Modolo Speedy brakes and levers, and with a black Brooks saddle. I was using this bike as a fixed gear but I am having knee problems and have to let it go. If you also want the rear wheel (36 spoke, Suzue hub) it will be $60 more.

Best,

- Cesar

Tommasini, $700

I was going to post this link here, then I bought the bike...is it mean to still post it? Anyway, the grouppo has more wear than indicated in the listing but the frame is worth the asking from what I can tell.

Vintage 1972/73 Bottecchia Special 52cm ORIGINAL COMPONENTS! - $300 (mission district)

Reply to:sale-hsaxd-1180816767@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
Date: 2009-05-20, 1:57PM PDT

Hi. I'm selling a vintage 1972/73 Bottecchia Special road bike. I bought this a few months ago, with the intent to restore it back to it's original glory, but my plans have changed. For those who know, Bottecchia was top manufacturer in back in the day and they made really nice bikes during the 60s, 70s, and 80s. They fallen off since, but they're still a reputable brand. As far as my research has shown, this bike is 100% stock with all original components from 1972/73. Structurally, the frame is in excellent condition, with no bends, dents or cracks. There is some rust on the frame, but this can very easily be cleaned with some rust remover. It's still a very sturdy/strong frame with no compromises whatsoever. Cosmetically, there's much to be desired. My plan was to have the paint sandblasted and repainted to it's original white. I was going to buy the original decals for them too. Here's the list of its components:
FRAME: 52cm Bottecchia Special with steel lugs with chrome dipped lugs, chain and seat stays
FORK: Bottecchia Special
STEM: Carnielli
BRAKE CALIPERS: Universal
BRAKE LEVERS: Universal
FRONT DERAILLEUR: Campagnolo
REAR DERAILLEUR: Campagnolo Nuovo Record Pat.72
SHIFTERS: Campagnolo down tube, Vicenza
FREEWHEEL: Regina 5 speed
CRANKSET: Magistroni
HUBS: Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo
SADDLE: Belt
RACK: Pletscher, made in Germany
I don't know the exact model of the pedals, seatpost, handlebars, headset, rims, and bottom bracket, as I haven't taken the bike apart and the markings aren't visible to me. But I'm assuming they're all original parts as well because the gentlemen from whom I bought this bike said it has been in storage for 30+ years and he doesn't remember doing anything to the bike when it was ridden.

As you can tell from the pics, the bike is in decent shape. There is a lot of rust on most of the components (especially the cranks), but a little TLC and rust remover can take care of that. This bike is not for the average person, but if restoring bikes is your hobby, then this could the perfect summer project for you. This bike is listed at $300 because that's how much I paid for it. Completedly restored, this bike could easily be worth over $1000. Even right now, you could piece out the bike parts on eBay and get a few hundred bucks.

And if you want, you can even convert this is a fixed gear bike, as dropouts can accomidate a track hub, but I wouldn't recommend this based on my principles. It's very hard to find an early 70s bike with all original compenents and this one is as complete of a bike that you'll find. $300 cash FIRM. Local pick up in SF only. Thanks for looking!

Good as sold.

Just talked to seller, actually a friend of mine from previous sales.

He's a very fair gentleman and I'm sure the first person who called will make the purchase.

That'd look really good if someone hacked that derailleur hanger doohickey off of it. And removed all of those stupid cables and cable clips. And shifters. And brakes. Oh, and spray paint it flat black and put purple Velocity deep-Vs on it......
