Funky Bianchi wheel size?
3 Attachment(s)
This frame is for sale fairly locally (30mins) and the owner doesn't know what it really is. It has some pretty nasty structural problems and I'd mostly just use it for its fork. My question is: Is this a mountain bike or a cross bike? I need a 700c fork with canti bosses and the seller thinks I'm speaking Egyptian when i asked him what sized wheels it takes. Seems the rear brake location should be a hint but I don't know enough about Bianchi's.
Thanks WjV |
looks like a 26" to me, but with the right canti's sometimes you can sneak a 700c in there.
on a 700c fork the mounts should be higher on the tubes |
Looks like a mountain bike for 26" wheels. Nishiki has a similar frame where the rear brakes are positioned off of the chain stays. That would make a nice fixie project. Probably a precursor to the PUSS, WUSS, etc...

I agree that it likely takes 26"/559mm wheels, given that U-brake in the rear. Very late 80s!

I'm remembering...that's always dangerous, but I think this was called the Grizzly.
Now that I've shamed myself into looking, see here |
Thanks all! The knowledge here is astounding! I still think I'll pick it up, it has a cracked chain-stay but for $10, will be a good excuse to try my hand at brazing.

I had nothing but trouble with them . |
